Kip

I love the graphics and how everything is laid out And the game runs well Unfortunately, the controls don't feel precise enough for a precision platformer I'm not complaining about the movement speed or how it feels to play Kip, it's cool, especially because in games like Super Meat Boy the controls are slippery But sometimes there's input delay whenever you jump or move, up to three frames ☹️ And that sort of control delay does not make me want to play the levels beyond World 2 because it makes me feel as if some of the deaths are not my fault I also understand that the game was made on Turbowarp but there are ways to fix this I slowed down footage of me playing Kip and the button display at the top right shows me pressing the jump button before Kip jumps For now, I would not recommend this game (I also recommend that the wordle mode features more common words)

One of the best 2d platformers I've seen in a long time, and it also shows that anyone can make a game, even using a block-based language. Kip 3 should be full-length, paid game, because this one is Meat Boy, and Kip 3 will be Super Meat Boy. 11/10 Keyboard points.

Kip is one of those games that looks cute enough to fool me into thinking it is going to be a relaxing platformer, and then immediately reminds me that it really does not care about my feelings. I play as a little chicken who has to keep moving through increasingly difficult platforming levels, with the whole game built around precision and timing. It is simple to understand, but actually getting through the levels can be brutally difficult. I liked that contrast because the colourful presentation makes the frustration feel a little less serious. The controls are the most important part of Kip, and thankfully they feel designed around the difficulty. Every jump needs to be deliberate and I have to get used to exactly how the chicken moves before I can make reliable progress. I died plenty of times, but I usually understood why I had failed. That is important in a precision platformer because I never want to feel like the game is randomly taking control away from me. When I finally get a difficult section right, it feels properly earned.
