spoilers, not that it'll mean much i can confidently say that whatever you expect from this game- you wont get. it opens with 2 minutes of footage of an expedition in the arctic accompanied with what i would describe as music for people who like the sound of nails on a chalkboard (which certainly spices up the footage, if a bit loud). after this we cut to some of the dryest turnbased rpg gameplay ive ever experienced with 2.5D controls so bad it made my head hurt. why make a game 2.5D with grid movement? why only slimes? it took me 5 minutes to figure out the controls. when you finally find the NPC youre supposed to meet in the hell that is this ice cavern you turn back around and go to your ship. after boring dialogue that makes no sense (since you're thrown into the "plot" of this game( you get, i kid you not, a 10 minute cutscene with orchestral music with occasional synth tracks overlapping it (which i can only assume is unintentional because it nearly made me collapse) i wont spoil the contents of the cutscene because i think this game is worth getting just for it alone. i honestly would've played more if not for the fact that once you've exited the cutscene and go talk to an…

There's a two-minute video of stock footage of Antarctic icebreakers. Then you're in a weird mashup of Wolfenstein 3D world with RPGMaker / Final Fantasy 1 random encounter battles. Jarring and weird for something that doesn't [b]seem[/b] to be an intentional edgelord memefest game.

[h1]Before I played Kismet Tapestry, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good[/h1]

Hastily cobbled together collection of scenes interspersed with stock footage and brief "dungeon crawl" sections and then the game ends abruptly. I believe the assets are likely all reused or stolen from somewhere else. The music is earsplitting and difficult to endure for the 1.25 hour length of the game. The dungeon crawl sections are RPG maker battles against 2 slimes at a time which can be beaten simply by using the fight command (the only other abilities available are fire and heal). The slimes have a 100% drop rate for potions so you will never be in danger of dying. There are three forced battles against non slime enemies but these enemies do not have unique attacks so might as well be slimes. Of course they are also default RPG maker enemy sprites. The story is mostly contained to two expositions dumps, one midway through the game and one at the end. The rest of the dialogue is mostly inconsequential, nonsensical or without context. It ends on a cliffhanger, but it doesn't really matter. This game is free but time is money and even the time I spent writing this review feels wasted.
