The good and great: - I love that players can add their own MIDI files and listen to their own songs. It's charming, while maintaining the N64's sound limitations. - The visuals are so of-the-time it's incredible. The models, textures, and lighting are all basically perfect at evoking the N64 hardware. - Good sound design is imperative for giving the player cues for them to respond to. Said design here is done immaculately while still being unique in how weighty it sounds. - The challenges of this game are like puzzles, in a good way. Once the player has that "a-ha!" moment, it's all up to execution, which is, in all honesty, pretty fair. Issues: - Like puzzles, a lot of this game's challenges are also one-trick ponies that, while difficult on a first go, become a cake-walk on subsequent playthroughs. Souls-like games for example, rely on memorization, like Knight's Try. However, said moments of memorization are randomized in their order to keep players engaged and on their toes. This is why obstacles like the cannonballs and skeletons were so difficult for other players and me, because they forced the player to always pay attention. Super Mario 64 featuring Siegmeyer of Catarina from the Dark Souls™ Series. A very fun and very challenging "single stage" romp very much inspired by Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Dark Souls. The graphics are very accurate to the time, to the point where the game not only looks excellent with its low poly and CRT shader settings, hooking it up to an actual CRT presents a perfectly playable experience. There are secrets to uncover, unlockables that make a playthrough different, the works. The trailer actually shows off perfectly what the game is about. There is a mode that lets the player stop and return to each segment reached, so it's not impossible to beat the game. After that, the other difficulties become significantly easier (I finished both Knight and Arch Knight modes in 25 tries total). There are a couple sections in the game that feel a bit too much. Most of them are in the beginning sections, the game eases up a lot during the second half. If you like what you see in the trailer, just know that you get 2-4 hours of it to some very chill classic songs... that you can just replace with midi files of Sonic & Knuckles' "The Doomsday Zone" or Un…

What can i say that hasn't already been said in all the reviews? This game is simply phenomenal. As someone that isn't really into difficult games, this nails the difficulty aspect in my opinion. And there's no point where I felt the game was being unfair with the obstacles. I had a great time diverting my course to explore the random corners in both the stage and the castle, and found a ton of cool secrets. However, there were a lot that just didn't have anything which was a bit sad. The sound design is crazy good. They really nailed the overall aesthetic of old N64 games. This game was executed very well. But my biggest disappointment was realizing there was only one stage. I feel 3-5 would have been perfect. I would definitely pay for more stages. Great game 9/10 not a 10 cuz only one level
