I been trying to figure out what it is about this clone that bothers me. The art style does but thats not enough to ruin it. The Ui is part of it. I think the biggest drawback of this game is while it does meet the bare requirements to be another clone of this genre it feels like it doesn't bring anything other than the base template of the genre to the table. You can put cards together which is a little different but it feels like the game was started...they added assets from others of the genre...added that one feature...then stopped. I feel bored when I play this, like I have to push myself to keep going though it, thats not how a game should feel.1 found this helpful
UX is a bit funny, the large card views appear overtop of the enemies I'm trying to drag my cards to, the turn doesn't end when I'm out of ink and you're meant to click "skip turn". The dynamite chest seems to be a strange risk/reward for finishing a room and I got 3 dynamite chests in a row on my first playthrough. so that felt like crap.1 found this helpful

A surprisingly fun game that reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh because of the fusions, very intuitive and easy to learn how to play. There are odds and ends that need polishing, but overall it's a very interesting option for those seeking a progressively challenging strategy game. Definitely recommended to try out, love the music and the art which along with the easy controls make altogether playing this game a positive experience.1 found this helpful
"Knightmares" is a student project from U-Tad. One of the first things students should be taught in game development is that 3D graphics became mainstream in the mid 1990's with dedicated 3D cards like the Voodoo3 and the ATI Rage. But the students were deliberately mistaught that's it's okay to release obsolete 2D games in the 3D era of gaming... certainly any professional developer seeing a prospective new hire who doesn't even know about 3D gaming probably isn't going to give them a job. Needless to say if an educational institution taught me incorrectly on purpose, I'd ask for my money back. So the students were tasked with making a Slay-The-Spire type card battler ripoff only with quality so bad it looks like 1990's Flash games. The cartoony graphics don't help, and the plot is nonsensical and falls flat where it was trying to be at least a little comedic. I just feel bad for the students here, they got ripped off by the university. We also have to question what value there is for gamers on Steam when institutions flood the store with low quality 2D video game homework assignments... sure, it might make the students feel good about themselves, but this has no benefit f…
