KOEWOTAYORINI is a really unusual little escape game because almost everything I do is based around a phone call. I receive a call from a girl who has been kidnapped, and she is relying on me to help her escape. I cannot see what she is seeing, so I have to listen carefully to what she tells me, remember important details and use that information to decide what I should tell her to do next. I like this setup because it makes the phone call feel important instead of just being a way to deliver story dialogue. The main puzzle idea works surprisingly well. I have to pay attention to the information the girl gives me and then use the call and web search options to work out how to guide her. Sometimes a small detail from an earlier conversation can become important later, so I have to actually listen rather than simply clicking through everything. There are 13 stages and the game is designed around short sections, which makes it easy for me to play one or two at a time without needing to commit to a long session.
