Kreed: Battle for Savitar

Looks like a great cheesy early 2000's shooter, but awful tutorial experience, (which was standard practice back then), and running was nullified by what I guess is a technical issue. Requesting refund.

Remember to limit the FPS in Nvdia control panel, otherwise movement speed will be slow on some systems. 120 should still be fine.

Uh oh! I think I enjoyed my time with Battle for Savitar! How can that be? It's an expansion of Kreed, an infamous slavjank shooter that suffered critical lashings due to its incomprehensible story, less-than-stellar gunplay, awkward pacing, and — the big one — the superficially complex and meandering level design that forked off into billions of pathways, 90% of which were dead ends. Does the expansion learn from these mistakes, or do they double down? Here's the spoiler, they learned. Battle for Savitar is a sub 2 hour ordeal that doesn't throw you straight into the deep end of the galactic space war out of the gate, but instead eases you into its world (at least for about 5 minutes), gradually introduces new and improved weaponry, and greatly lessens the backtracking. There's still some backtracking (though not nearly as egregious), there's definitely still a labyrinthine structure to some of the levels (there's a vent maze here that's arguably worse than any from the base game), and there's still quite a bit of narrative incoherence. A short but sweet sequel to Kreed. It improves a lot on the first game in terms of graphics, physics and voice acting. The story is an unpredictable adventure that jumps around quickly between locations - it feels kind of like a mix between the Star Wars and Doom universes. My only complaint would be the length really - I finished it in just over 2 hours. It would have been setting I'd enjoy exploring more of. I recommend buying on sale (it often goes down to 80% off); it's a good fun as long as you can tolerate rough edges.

played this on hard and it can be tricky as the enemies are percise, but their projectiles are slow enough to be able to evade them, at least the ones without regular guns the music here is really rocks this whole show you can quite easily b hop to speed yourself up, though the maps aren't large enough to get up to full speed, but you can easily get to 3-4x your normal speed voice actors fairly amateur, particularly the protagonist, but some did a decent job, particularly the one trying to make a southern accent sometimes it can be rather unclear where to go, and with a portion of the maps just being optional resupply, it doesn't help the situation the game can crash quite a bit, even on fairly simple alt tabs the game is pretty dark by default and the options reset when you do crash there just isn't anything too substancial about this title in particular to give a positive review to, it did give some of the tension i was looking for in this games, but even then you would likely be better served by other 2000s fps games
