About Kriophobia
- Evade or confront, your choice. Combat is tense, creatures are unforgiving, and often best avoided entirely.
- Survive the elements. Resources are limited, the cold is lethal, and every decision counts.
- Explore a broken legacy. Navigate the ruins of Cold War obsession and personal trauma through exploration, puzzles, and atmospheric storytelling.
- Experience striking visuals. A unique art style blending comic book ink with painterly textures, brought to life through hand-crafted static camera angles.
- Hear the haunting echoes. An eerie Slavic-inspired soundtrack immerses you in dread and loneliness as Anna's fractured history unfolds.

The Thing meets Silent Hill set during the Cold War in a frozen abandoned Soviet base. There are some technical issues, however it runs smooth and the story of this game is top tier. The inclusion of English voice acting makes this game MUCH better compared to launch. Combat is melee focused while managing a cold mechanic, if you stay out too long you'll get hypothermia. Save rooms warm you up or different items. The game also rewards exploration and remembering where things are while back tracking. Lots of hidden items that provide lore or that are needed for different endings. Anna is one of the best SH protagonist and I was rooting for her the whole time. Issues: The map is abysmal and borderline useless. Fixed cameras can be disorienting, which is why every survival horror game has included a proper map. I had to reload a save over 5 times during my play though. The worst bug was pulling out the radio and the character getting stuck in the listen position. The stalker enemy got stuck in the doorway 3 times blocking the path, also would just spawn into a room I'd walk into. Two crashes after a cut scene before moving to the 3rd area involving an elevator. Also an option to t…3 found this helpful

Very solid classic survival horror!1 found this helpful
The camera is just pure awful. It really doesn't matter what else the game could hold in store for me, I'll never get there. Enter a room just to have the camera rotate into another spot that isn't useful. The beginning where I need to move to different sensors? Enjoy watching the camera shift to show this trek from different angles that also makes it so you are no longer running towards where you need to run.
it would be 6/10 - still laggy when changing a scene - camera is somewhat horrible - why the coldness is still counted when playing echoes? - no skip cutscene button the art, setting, and gameplay mechanics are what i love in this title
I wanted to like this one because the story and monsters are really interesting but it suffers heavily from the camera mechanics, not great puzzles and enemies being bugged. Pros: + The story is really interesting and was easily pushing me through the game + The graphics are really nice, I love the style they chose + They added voice acting to the game which was a really nice touch, I always say it brings the story and characters to life Cons: - The camera mechanics are horrible, if you can think of every problem the OG Resident Evil games had this also has them and they haven't improved on it, I constantly would walk into a room just to walk right back out because there is no buffer zone - The shadow monster doesn't always get damaged even if there is light on it, you apparently need to be very specific - The big swirl faced monster gets stuck on everything - The puzzles were poorly designed, the prison colour puzzle didn't make any sense and even when i looked up the answer i still don't understand how to get it in game - The doctor voice actor in the morge has to be AI it had no life in it whatsoever and it was horrible to listen to compared to the others Steam Curator Page…
