About Kriss' Journey
The Idea
I always wanted to bring my stories to life through a video game. Looking at stories of legendary developers of the games of my childhood (Prince of Persia, Myst, just to name a couple) I got nostalgic and I thought:"Hey why not make an Interactive Fiction like they used to do back in the days when I didn't even know what a computer was?"
The Story
So I took my old science-fantasy novel, which I wrote when I was in high school (before isekai was mainstream) and started adapting it to be an interactive experience to be run inside a terminal, with a minimal (we may say absent) interface and with a command line to type commands when needed.Type stuff and try doing things. An help menu will appear for your convenience, if you press TAB
The Mechanics
You will experience the story through the protagonist Kriss' eyes. You will read the description of the scenes, you will have to make decisions, choose the right thing to say in dialogues, type actions to perform in order to collect objects and/or progress to the next scene. There are many paths to get to the end, and not all choices are good. Old games did not forgive you: if you made a mistake, you would usually die. Badly. What would you do...?
The Technology
The game is developed with .NET. It displays text and symbols in a wide variety of colors: not less than (and no more, actually) SIXTEEN! :D Make sure you have a color monitor in order to fully enjoy the game stunning "graphics"The Philosophy
This game is the result of my love for video games, story telling, computers and coding. Thus, it is open source (look for my username on GitHub) and will be free for everybody and forever even after the development is completed. If you enjoy the game and if you want to support my work, you can buy me a coffee. What Steam players say

I really liked this game! I haven't played a 'text and type' and 'choose your own adventure' game in decades!!! Obviously no graphics to comment on, but the storyline (well until I got killed! Going back for more later) is amazing. The writer explains how you need to type in what you want to do, needs to match a certain style, while it sounds silly, when you play, it makes sense. I really hope you will give this a go. As I said, I died and I don't think I was even quarter of the way in (I made a stupid choice). The game DOES give choices and at other times you need to type in what you want to do. It's definately for those of us who love and have always loved "choose your own adventure" style games. If you love those, you will love this!!4 found this helpful
actually really quite good fun, i enjoyed the story so far and looking forward to more. there was just enough user input to keep you engaged but not enough to take your focus off of the story. however, as to be expected there are a few minor problems, a) the speed of the text can get a bit overwhelming when it's going on and on, so either to slow it down a touch or add a mini settings menu would be handy, b) very negligible thing but there's a couple of misspellings and such, c) only once or twice, i found it was a bit too unguided in the prompts you had to give or pretty pointlessly complicated choices (climbing the rock), also, not a clue if its difficult to do at all but to be able to scroll up in the terminal and see what had previously happened would be useful overall, really fun experience, 100% looking forward to more and definitely recommend giving it a chance2 found this helpful
