Lair of Anubis

Duration: ~1 hour(s) Lair of Anubis is a short game created by a solo developer. You find yourself dropped in an sandstorm for some reason. Like, the story says we're going to find some unknown pyramid stuff that they've never heard before. Not sure why we need to have the sandstorm if we're going there anyway, but hey, I guess we need to go there HURRIED. Aside from the above, the story of the game is kind of okay. I won't spoiler it, but if you've seen a lot of media with pyramids recently, you know where this story is going to go. I like a lot of the visual ideas the dev made in some places, so that was nice. I'm not sure the one mummy in the game as having a decently large truckdump on their bottom end, but I'm not here to kinkshame. Like I said, though, the game's visuals are just okay plus some ideas. Can't say they're done WELL to say, but you can see some ideas there. Unfortunately, the game has a lot of bugs. The dev made at least one update, and it's always good to see that, but the bugs are there. Thankfully, most of the games don't get in your way to beating the game. In Lair of Anubis, you are exploring a pyramid hidden deep in the sand. While you are doing this, you have to solve some puzzles and evade monsters who are chasing you. You will also come across many jump scares. The gameplay is ok, the puzzles are a little bit too easy in my opinion. The few entities that are following you are not difficult to cope with. There are way too many cheap jump scares which sometimes aren't really fitting and straight out of the blue. I wished the developer had more focused on a creepy atmosphere and a creepy environmental storytelling. I liked the exploration of the pyramid, and I would have loved it if this part had been a little bit longer. Unfortunately, I encountered several bugs, but none were game breaking. Although for the second game of the publisher/developer, it is quite good. If he keeps on working on this minor flaws, the next game could be really good. Playtime: ~ 1 hour Overall: 4 out of 10 You should wait for a sale and give it a try.

Not to shabby for an indie Horror game. I mean I have played WAY worse. You also have all settings. I'd rate this a recommended.

Zemblanity was a blast so I bought this one. Unfortunately, it's rather ugly, glitchy, buggy, loud and obnoxious. Also, I've had C64 games that could load faster.

Trash. Sorry but the English is not good. Someone translated this almost 1-to-1 from some other language. There is text, and then you have to sit through a HORRIFYINGLY LOUD AND ANNOYING cut-scene showing you what you just read. You are supposedly an Archaeologist, but you are so stupid that you do not have a compass or a map. Anytime I wandered away from the crashed car, text appeared telling me to go back. I am an adult with limited playtime. Make your game do something. I do not have hours to spend waiting next to a crashed car for your game to decide what I'm supposed to do.

You cant see more than a short distance in front of you. No settings options will change this. Maps have lots of sharp turns, no good landmarks and are just a maze. Finding all the items you need to get through is just trial and error, All enemies instakill and do not have good indicators of their presence. They make noise, but you hear it on half the map making the enemy sounds unreliable for knowing where the enemy is. Everything is so dark you can not see them until you have almost no time to react. The game also does not explain hardly anything. This game has a lot of cool elements in it I like. I like the idea of a horror game that takes you in the pyramids. The trippy parts of the game are fun to look at. But the frustrating level design keeps this game from being good.
