Land of Crystals is praised for its relaxing, cozy atmosphere, charming pixel art, and thoughtful emotional storytelling that makes players reflect on their feelings and personal growth. However, players consistently note that the game struggles with overwhelming crystal management, poor tutorials that leave mechanics unexplained, and combat that encourages using only a few overpowered crystals despite the large collection available, making the abundance feel more bloated than purposeful.
Land of Crystals is a cozy game with lots and lots of crystals to find and learn. I spent some time actually using all of them(again, there's a lot), and this game is quite good in the regard that you learn something while you use them. If you pay attention the lore in the game makes sense, and it can be sad, cute and maybe just make you think for a little while. Nonetheless, so far, I enjoyed this game. I want to buy some crystals now...GG. :D4 found this helpful
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. It's an easy game to get to and has quite a few things to keep you busy. Excellent work!3 found this helpful
This game is an absolute must for fans of pixel art and 2D games, providing a tranquil and delightful experience. The plot is ingeniously designed, challenging players to confront and conquer various emotions that have manifested as monsters, plaguing the villagers. As you work to purge these negative emotions, the game cleverly parallels the current state of humanity. The concept is thrilling, as it offers a representation of the emotional struggles many face today. Completing the game could shift your mindset, leaving you to consider how you might improve your life moving forward.2 found this helpful
First of: It should be a warning light when you see that most of the reviews come from accounts that have hardly done any reviews before or don't have any games on their account. Anyway...this game. Without any information you will be thrown into the game. Looks like you must collect crytals...clean them and than fight a monster only using those crystals. The information about what the individual crystals are good for is rather sparse. The situation is completely different, however, when it comes to the number of crystals. Even in this first battle, there are 10 different ones in your bag...remember, the goal of the game is to collect 100 of them. Even with the ones you have, it was difficult to achieve anything...but that wasn't intended. Because as soon as the enemy was defeated, he reappeared...the idea was probably to lose, and thus the crystals you had already collected would be lost. Well, that was the end for me, as the gameplay didn't really appeal to me. The graphics of the characters also took some getting used to.1 found this helpful
This game is a bit perplexing, with its combat system based exclusively on crystals and their effects on the emotions you are battling. There are a lot of crystals. When I say a lot, I mean A LOT. When I say A LOT, I mean a bit too many. The idea of countering the negative feelings with the crystal's effects is neat, but I found myself using the same ones most of the time, since they seemed to have guaranteed high damage output. The world is beautiful, with a great use of RPGMaker-style graphics filtered through a fable-like quality. The models of the monsters are also pretty cool. Soundtrack is great. It feels like this could be just a concept, with a full-length game somewhere in the mind of the developer - hopefully one day we will see it, if that's the case.1 found this helpful
An hour in, and so far I have a very pleasant experience. The game is easy and relaxing. If you are familiar with RPG Maker games, you will feel right at home. Great work!1 found this helpful
