About Last Night of Winter

The story takes place in an old stronghold, at the last days of a great battle. You died, but your will was stronger than your body, so you woke up again, to continue the siege in a never ending night.

Remembering little more than your purpose, you'll have to leave the dungeons, advance through the stronghold's outskirts, and reach the most high tower. To find the Heir and finally end your curse.

· Explore

Non-linear map where you'll be unlocking access to new places once you have acquired special items or abilities within the game.

· Fight your way in

Fast paced combat focused on skill, where every enemy is different from the others and even the more harmless looking one can be deadly. With three difficulty modes, you can adapt the game to your own tastes, in case you want a challenge or you are just in for the adventure.

· Equip yourself

Multiple weapons with very different movesets that completely change the gameplay, and the way you face the different challenges of the game.

· Story driven

Meet different characters that, as you, woke up with a blurry purpose to follow and discover their stories.

No. Ingredients are there, but I am not having fun at all - I feel frustrated more than anything. Enemy attack patterns are uninspiring, dodging is absolutely unfun, and the whole point of the game - combat - just doesn't feel good to me. Even the input isn't doing too well, sometimes it gets eaten up or delayed, just long enough for enemy's attack to go through - basically teaching you the opposite of careful timed input, and just going for button mashing so that it gets recognized. Way better games out there (try "Good Night Knight"). Probably could be worth 6$ I paid for it on special, but I'm refunding either way.

It's ok i guess, nah i'm kidding, I absolutely love the game, The level design is nostalgic and true to the demo, The bosses are nice, specially that one skull boss (get it?) Hope the devs make another game or something because devs definitely cooked here!

A very solid action adventure game. It all around is very good, from the mechanics, level design, story, soundtrack, etc. It is fairly short, but it is a fitting length in regards to the story. Speaking of the story, I really do like the characters and story, I'm sort of a sucker for the cryptic "make your own conclusions and discoveries" type of story. The characters I felt were really well written for how little dialogue there is in the game. There were serious and amusing moments. Oh yeah, and you can pet the animals. The variety of weapons and gear you obtain is pretty nice, although I did end up sticking with a few specific items throughout most of the game. I only encountered a few bugs, none of which were game breaking or all that noticeable. My only complaints are that the final boss fight was a bit easy (but still epic), the ending was a bit odd (but not bad), and there is no boss rush mode or way to redo boss/event fights. I feel the game, while not necessary, would benefit from a way to refight events and bosses without having to replay the story. With the variety of gear and weapons, it would allow the player to try out new combinations and master the combat system.…

This game is stellar. The world, narrative, and characters are so charming, I was hooked from the start. The macro level design is really well realized, reminding me strongly of Dark Souls 1. The checkpoints are few, but the levels wrap around each other so nicely that you're never far from one. The soundtrack is also phenomenal. The tracks all evoke the proper moods and the music from the battles towards the end was great. I finished in just under 5 hours at not 100% completion, so it's short and sweet. Great game, definitely a recommend for anyone who likes cute indie games with soul and challenging but fun gameplay.

Dodging and attacking feel quite clunky to me, took a while to get through the dodge tutorial because it seems to require you to do it several times in a row, and the window is kinda small. But... just walking is often fine to get away from the basic skeleton's attack. I got through the first boss, wandered around the "town" for a bit and just... it didn't feel good. It runs, it is a real game, it just... the interface is sluggish, the dodging is sluggish, and I never felt like I was making progress, just traveling arbitrarily until something would maybe happen, but no guarantee or reason to be excited. Closest I got was the bit where you get a choice of which of 2 directions to explore first, unlocking the path to the keys to the prison you started in. To open each door you walk up to it, open inventory, select the key, and select use. That's annoying. I was dreading every conversation with the owl of tutorialization very swiftly. I should not be playing for 90 minutes and have no story, no interesting scenery, no characters, no music, and bad combat. I gave it a try, but this is just not for me.
