Looking at the release date and the story content, I feel like I've just played someone's pandemic pandemic conspiracy fever dream. It's... got decent graphics I guess? Background tracks are thematically uneven, haunting/depressing in one area, aggressive fast pace in the next like it can't decide what the mood should be. Level design is mediocre at best, including one linear area with a key 3/4s the way through that unlocks... 2 doors halfway back to the beginning. Which contain common consumables and a cheap ring you probably have 3 of already. Add to that how many trinkets and talents are simply bugged and nonfunctional. Oh, and the quests. To be fair, I stopped trying when I reached a boss fight with high knockback over a death pit. I really just CBA to play this any more. Honestly I don't understand why this is so highly acclaimed. I don't know, maybe you'd like it if you think the pandemic was a plot by "the experts." If you're going to pick this up, do yourself a few favors: Wait for a sale. Read everything on the internet. Maybe reach for cheats, though to be honest the difficulty plummets about halfway through (aside from stupid instadeath bosses).

Lovely setting, really appreciated the emphasis on story.
