First, a bit of the history and what you do in the game. As the name implies, your main character is visiting his grandparents house, but, when arriving at the place, things take an unexpected turn. Without spoiling the history, although I think the name of the game does it quite well, you will be forced to hide, fight and survive in a seemingly open environment. And I say seemingly because, albeit having played for quite a while, most of my time with the game was trying to figure out what to do, and getting lost in its pretty big world, considering you have to walk or run, everywhere. There's also a fast travel point, which I'm guessing will unlock more places further in the game, but, at the moment, I can only fast travel to the main character's grandparents house. The game has an extremely eerie vibe, and reminds me of Slender Man - The Eight Pages in some points, and Blair Witch Project in others. The graphics are nothing to write home about, although we have to remember this is an indie game, with a small team of devs, or in most cases, just one, so, taking this in consideration, they could indeed look worse. Price wise I found it quite cheap, and the game is filled with sec…1 found this helpful
played game on 5-23-26 Game is a walking sims, with horror, mystery and puzzle elements. Game is done well and I find it vey interesting. Game is way better than the store page movie.
The game had its creepy moments but I was not too amazed. It's a mediocre, very bland and random horror game that could have been better if it wasn't so chore-like, like go from A to B from B to C etc, for everything you need to progress basically. The story is also poorly conveyed to the player. If we can call it story... The ending was very disappointing as weIl. Ok, I liked the idea, but not the execution. I also liked the night sounds of crickets tho, and I liked walking trough the corn fields. I also liked how we could basically climb any slope outside in the forest and the flashlight was decent too. Good atmosphere, if we close an eye to the outdated graphics where everything looks squared and low-poly. But well, these were the highlights of the game for me. Based on the credits at the end lots and lots of people have worked on this game, but it really looks and feels like a single developer made this game. Would I recommend it? No, not really.
This game has been really fun and pretty scary. Lighting and sound effects create a really creepy ambiance. The flashlight tool is well-developed, and the crafting system is simple and easy to use.
I won't say this is a bad game because it's not. But some of the gameplay is aggravating. The walking speed is incredibly slow, enemies appear out of thin air and can hit you without being close to you. Enemies only show up when you have a task to do. I ran all over the woods and didn't see anything until I had to find rocks or get over the fence. There was a wolf glitched in the well that hit me everytime I went to grab the key. Made the task take forever because each hit almost killed me and regaining health happens too slow. You never have enough herbs to heal. The compass is weird, I did better opening the map repeatedly instead of trying to follow it's destination marker that keeps changing directions. Runtime is padded by scattering items and keys all over the world. I never get the logic of games that do this. For example, why is the key to my bedroom closet 20 miles away on some random bookshelf in a gas station. { Again, that's an example. It's not in this game. } I found a crowbar but couldn't use it to to break some wood, but it worked on a steel gate because "logic". There are openings that you can fit through to cross over to new parts of the map but the game makes y…
The game was interesting, its like an older school gameplay but if you like puzzles and searching alone in a forest you will enjoy this one ... https://youtu.be/0bRmlr1LYOg
