About Legends And Lore
Legends & Lore is a VR or Desktop (with keyboard and mouse) role playing tool. Inspired by tabletop role playing games (aka TTRPG) like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, and many others; the core of our tool is you and your friends telling a story together. You start by choosing between playing as a Game Master (aka GM) or one of up to four Adventurers. Game Masters create the stories and worlds that Adventurers traverse. Guiding them through quests for treasure, battles with deadly foes, daring rescues, and much more. As an Adventurer you roleplay as your character through those scenarios, adding your characters personality and ambitions to the story. The gameplay is what's known as a player driven story. Meaning every playthrough will be different. What you say, what you do, and how you work with your team influence the outcome and flow of the story. Legends And Lore is a dynamic system that gives unique tools to both Game Masters and Adventurers, in order to bring your ttrpgs to life!
Players who choose the Adventurer role design their characters. The design goes deeper than most RPGs, instead of just looks and skills you delve deeper into character creation through designing your characters alignment, backstory, and personal beliefs. You then roleplay that character and have all of that influence how they interact with the world and others. In a ttrpg your roleplay is everything and helps to create the story of your adventure.
Players who choose the Game Master role design the world and npcs that adventurers experience. Game Masters act as the god of the world and are responsible for narrative flow, creating the scenario/environment, and providing dynamic feedback. Leaving them in charge of everything that happens (outside of the adventurers direct actions) and the overall narrative of the story. The GM’s job is to create an adventure that's exciting, fun, and challenging. Both Adventurers and Game Masters meld together to create a story that has the possibility to unfold in any way possible, meaning no two playthroughs are alike.

Personally, I've been following this since its Kickstarter launch. Initial release was a bit lacking but the devs are improving this project on a weekly basis at this point. They are also very responsive to suggestions via the discord. The tool itself is a bit hard to wrap your head around but that's mostly because of the massive amount of features in it. The environment controls alone have something like 8-12 different features. The tutorial helps but I feel like there could be a better way to explain. Either way massive potential and looking forward to what the tool brings in the future. Last note: I do wish the playerbase was bigger because I find it difficult to find random groups. So far I've only been able to play with my friend group. Its a tool to play ttrpgs so you really cant do it solo so without a ready group its a bit hard to get into.5 found this helpful
It's okay, has all the makings of something that resembles potential. There's a lot of stuff going on in this and there's been some solid effort to make it so you can play a rather simple TTRPG. The user experience is rather poor, however. All though there are tutorials I feel the devs should look into simplifying the experience by quite a bit. To the dev team I'd recommend looking into the building and navigation tools that Horizons uses, and some solid UX redesign for both players and game masters. The bones are almost there, there's plenty of meat, but its covered in fur. .😂1 found this helpful
Unfortunately this product is dead. It had so much potential and the developers have disappeared.
I backed the kickstarter and tried the demo and this full version. It feels like this game was made in the 90s. the ui is awful. I wished I didn't back the kickstarter now. but I don't recommend there is better vr / ar / tabletop games out there and coming out.
