You awake as an undead lich after performing a powerful ritual and will have to recruit undead minions and manage your underworld domains, exploring to discover the dark secrets within them and travel to other planes of existence to interact with fellow immortals. You will have to carefully balance the pursuit of your research of new spells, the logistical challenges of managing large numbers of undead minions and cultists, and the threats originating from your own world and other planes of existence.
Life as a Lich is a 200,000 word interactive novel by Adrao, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination. It is a sequel to both one of the endings of Tokyo Wizard and one of the endings of Raiders of the Icepeak Mountains, or it can be played as a standalone game by creating a new character.

- • Import your character from either Tokyo Wizard or Raiders of the Icepeak Mountains, or make a new character in either modern-day Japan or a fantasy world.
- • Learn or research over 50 unique spells.
- • Explore and expand your underworld domains, or travel to different planes of existence.
- • Raise large undead armies, composed of a mixture of skeletons, zombies, ghouls, necrodragons, golems...or even form a rat army!
- • Battle or befriend an array of different creatures, including demons from other planes and demigods!
- • Try several different difficulty settings. Start as a mighty lich on "Very Easy", or struggle to overcome the challenges in "Impossible" mode!
- • Manage your underworld domains, allocating your minions to various tasks to develop your economy...or focus on the story!
- • Play as male, female, or nonbinary, and romance other undead!
- • Enjoy a variety of different game paths and stories, with multiple side missions and endings.

The epilogue was missing, instead there was a comment urging readers to support the author's work on Patreon so they can make more games or finish this one. Frequent spelling errors, lacking in important information regarding resources and character abilities, noticeable absence of explanation for vital mechanics. I love the idea but as of right now, very poorly implemented.21 found this helpful
I enjoyed this game. It's quite different to most hosted games. It feels like playing more of a role playing game with the ability to decide how hard I want the game to be, and different events popping up with the previous choices and resources you have at hand affecting how you can interact with them which gives it a lot of replayability. Now I'm off to lead my undead rat army to victory!6 found this helpful

Extremly confusing, based of another work of the author thats not clearly named and very hard to learn. If you chose the stand alone start, you have a compelling story that just suddenly stops and dumps you without explenation in a text-dungeon game. In my opinion this should not have been made a choice of games game, it would have worked better as RAGS or RPG-Maker game. Because of how complicated everything was and without any explenation how things work, i just remaind stuck after the promising start and couldnt go further, leaving me unable to enjoy or finish this game.2 found this helpful
I wanted to like it.. I got one of the prequels (the Tokyo one) to try and like it.. Here's the demigod ending: [spoiler] EPILOGUE (…) No epilogue…This may eventually become the starting point for another book! [/spoiler] Literally that's it. Most of the game is 'grinding' (clicking through the same choices over and over) except that you don't really know what you're grinding for. Your spells don't really say what the requirements are for them so you can spend 20 in-game days trying to bring back up your mental stats to raise a dracolich only to find out you were supposed to astrally go to the realm of death twice. You get an 'army of the undead' spell with no requirements, that you can't cast until the very end (but it doesn't tell you that so you keep trying to figure out why you can't cast it) only to find out you can't cast it then either (no idea why though, it doesn't say). You get a quest for some ancient queen and you knock everyone out fine until you meet some cleric who banishes you.... How? No idea. How do you overcome it? No clues, nothing appears after to make you think 'oh I should have tried that'. Can you go back and try again? Nope, not unless you restart and re…
