If we need to describe this game in brief sentence, this game is like an evil soul living in a cute body. I'll tell you why:
--How long does it take to beat the game? Half an hour?
C'mon, what can you do within 30 minutes in this game, maybe clear the first chapter? That's only 1/8 of all the levels, and pretty much the easiest part!
--So you mean you'll keep doing the laser cat trick for 4 hours?
No kidding! Light Tracer has 8 chapters with TOTALLY DIFFERENT gameplay and machanics and puzzles! Could you please check the reviews from media? Here are some examples.

They are probably wrong, because if you let a kid play the latter levels they will probably cry and quit -- I don't think they can figure out the puzzles or even the action part. If there has to be an award for Light Tracer, it should be "Most hardcore VR game" or something.

Don't be fooled by the visualization! It's cute, no problem, but it's not an "easy-come-and-go" thing! There are boss fights for each chapter and it feels like the battles in Legend of Zelda! It involves action, puzzle-solving and patience, which is just what a hardcore game means!

Sorry but you are wrong again! It's not ripping off Zelda, instead, everything here you will see is original. Just, the developers try to mix some classic feel of Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Monument Valley into VR, with their original control scheme. But you should soon see that this make the game feel even different from those classic games when you play it in VR! Honestly I don't know how to explain it well and that's the reason why there's so much misunderstanding to it. But from what everyone says after playing it, it's a game that any curious person shouldn't miss.

Light Tracer is like a cat-chasing-a-light addiction turned into a VR game with a lovably cute, little princess instead of a cat. You guide the princess through a bunch of jumping puzzles of increasing difficulty. The difficulty mostly stems from terrible controls and frustrating jump mechanics, but some of the puzzles are actually very well thought out and can be fun to figure out. There are some unlockable outfits for the princess, but I rage quit the game too soon to try those outfits out. The cute atmosphere is great, and this game would be a great purchase for its overall experience if you've never played this type of game before, but I warn you that it may be very frustrating to play.4 found this helpful

played in NON-VR-Mode: good riddle game + interesting physics + cute chibi + very cute chibi + soothing music + riddles can get pretty difficult + dark souls boss battles - english synchro not good (ajpanes ebounce sounds great) OOOFFF: riddles can get pretty nasty. but its fun nonetheless. Sometimes nonvr mode can be a bit confusing. 89/100 from me 13/10 awww Chibi <3
A better than expected platformer with some good music and interesting boss fights. The only negative is the save file. You can't move it and no cloud backups. =(

Kind of wish there was a more neutral option than just Yes/No. The biggest problem with this game is that there is a crash on Exit that will force you to remove your VR headset to dismiss the crash dialog when you want to stop playing. While this doesn't impact gameplay this is a huge inconvenience in general. (Used Vive, did not test Rift and don't know if the crash happens there or not.) Furthermore, this game is predominantly viewed from different angles by grabbing and rotating the map. If you have ever seen or played a game called Echochrome it's basically like that although without the perspective gimmick. This means, unfortunately in my opinion, that there is no real reason for this to be a VR title, BUT I do appreciate the developers' contributions to diversifying the genres and perspectives available for VR. The game seems fairly straight forward and simple, there is no real penalty for death as far as I can tell except you start at the last checkpoint which are frequent. It's a good game for beginners, kids, or people who just want to have a slightly different VR game in case the stuff they're already playing gets stale. This game is also perfect for playing seated.
