About Locally Sourced Anthology I: A Space Atlas

Locally Sourced Anthology I: A Space Atlas is a collection of 8 experimental games, each developed by a different indie team, that will take you across our Solar System.

In this one package, you can:
  • Grow tea on the Moon in the cozy base-builder The Quiet Moon!
  • Explore the dangerous depths of Titan's frozen sea in the immersive horror sim Ligeia!
  • Fish for a way off Neptune in Neptunalia: Reel Lost!
  • Survive the harsh realities of space in a base orbiting Uranus in U-Base-1!
  • Escape an endlessly looping day on Mars in the turn-based RPG don't sing me the blues, please, sing me a BRIGHT RED SONG OF LOVE!
  • Befriend the cats of Halley's Comet in the narrative-based puzzle platformer Halleyfolk Odyssey!
  • Fuse atoms to keep the Sun burning without getting swallowed up in the arcade puzzle/shooter SOL!
  • Experience the haunting poem-game of divine grief The Wishmaker From Saturn!

Really enjoyed playing this collection of small games on release. Not sure why I didn't write a review for it until about 2 years later! My favourite minigames, or at least the ones that have stuck with me the most, were: "The Quiet Moon", "Neptunalia: Reel Lost" and "Halleyfolk Odyssey". But they're all worth trying out!

A very cool collection of smaller games, prototype-ish experiments and more loosely designed experiences that help broaden our understanding of what a game "is" or "should be", both as an artistic endeavour and a commercial endpoint. I'm particularly fond of Bright Red Song of Love with its excellent aesthetics and very tight design, and I also liked The Quiet Moon's cozy theming and chill mechanics. The collection is diverse enough that you'll probably find *something* you'll click with, even if not everything is to your taste, and if nothing else, the heart of it all is enough to encourage and hope for more.
