for this to have been made by 1 person, it's SO good & super underrated! i love that there's levels in this game that you don't normally see in other backrooms games, and you can see how much work was put into all of them! i am a huge backrooms fan and this is probably my favorite game i've been able to find so far, and i would recommend over any other backrooms game!2 found this helpful

I’ve played a lot of backrooms games and this game needs a lot of improvements. The game is just all over the place. There’s no flow also the levels are too light.1 found this helpful
Avoid this game, I played it a few months back after coming across it and quit halfway into the 1st level, theres no direction, the level design is awful and honestly it's probably the worst backroom game out there, i tried it again after the big update and sadly, still the same, the games not playable and you will be bored 10 minutes in, just being blunt and honest, it may be cheap, but its still too much, to say this game is now "full game released" is a joke.
I bought Lost Hope: Backrooms with my friends mainly to play Expedition mode, but sadly the experience has been very frustrating. On Level 0, the main objective is to find and turn 3 valves. We searched the map for over 2 hours and could only find 2 out of 3. I assume the third valve may be behind a gate that requires some kind of amulet key, but the scanner does not help at all with finding the amulet. The flashlight also does not help much because the map is extremely dark, which makes searching feel more frustrating than scary. We thought the amulet might be in the elevator room, so we went down there, but there was nothing useful besides artifacts that did not seem to help with escaping. That area also seems unfinished or bugged because there is a bench blocking part of the path, but you can jump on it and crouch over it, which leads outside of the map into a glitched room. Another confusing part is right at the start. The arrows point you left, but there does not seem to be anything useful there besides an artifact that does not help with the objective. It makes the level feel misleading instead of challenging. Even if you somehow find all 3 valves, the notecard that expla…
I really want to like this game because environmentally it does well and the co op seems like tons of fun with the lair and the upgradeable weapons, but there are a lot of issues. Level zero leads to a black void eventually, especially in co op, like the ground disappears and everyone echoes around inside of it. The flashlight function is still terrible even after a year of waiting for updates. The lighting is so bright in the pool rooms that it's hard to see where the entity's are and its easy to walk into "water glitches" and just die. I will say however in no entity single player mode this game played beautifully. I wish that I could see all of the levels in that mode since that's the one I haven't had an issue with, but I understand that the game is a work in progress. The co op is just a mess and as someone who purchased it for my friends and tried it twice after seeing that the dev had made updates in the review comments. If this game is updated and works properly I'd love to give it a better review, but as someone who plays a lot of these games just go check out Backrooms Escape Together and Escape the Backrooms for now.
