✦ AI summary

Players praise the game's stunning visuals and well-crafted world design with good environmental variety and weather effects, but criticize the extremely basic and buggy gameplay with poor combat mechanics, broken features like the character creator sliders, and numerous technical issues that make it difficult to play. Most reviewers see significant potential in the foundation but feel the game needs substantial development work before being worth playing, with some expressing concern about whether development will continue at all.

First thing that I would say is that the game is very basic at the moment a lot of work is required. Thing that most stands out is the visuals and level design. The world is very pretty and has lot of verticality. The world actually looks handcrafted and cool. There is a good variety in enemies although the combat is very basic and can be cheesed easily. All in all I can recommend this game when its on sale. I would like to see how it develops further. I would like to wish the developer best of luck.

Review written 10/16/2021 In Early Access Lost in Red Valley shows the bones needed to become an enjoyable game: The environment is well created. I've discovered many beautiful views and locations I wish to build my base of operations. Locations are varied and distinct using both the environment and objects placed in locations. The weather effects are simple, but well done. Light rain, rain with and without fog, heavy rain, heavy thunderstorms, and snow. My favorite is heavy thunderstorms at night. The lighting effects from the lightning is based on the origin point. This causes lighting effects to come around objects in the environment (hills, valleys, mountains, statues). This includes the "god rays" lighting effects. The basic base building is functional. I've encountered a few situations when I thought a ceiling section should be supported well enough, but is destroyed when placed. I've solved each of these with placing a wall or windowed wall section. Crafting is functioning well. I progressed through the different tiers of weapons at a steady rate. Pictures and text are used to communicate crafting requirements. Lost in Red Valley has rough edges to smooth out:…

I can't recommend this at all, the only thing going for this game is the insanely good looking world. Everything else only has potential but there needs to be a lot of work done to make this game playable. Me and my girlfriend came across way too many problems and we ended up just exploring the world because that is all that could be done. Pros: + This game looks amazing! + I can honestly see the potential this game has Cons: - If you play with the sound in the menu all of the sounds screw up. You'll either have no sound or very little sound - Night time is horrible, it's completely pitch black even with a touch or fire of some kind you just have to stand there for a few minutes waiting for the sun to come up - Can't build anything - A wolf spawns at the camp area at the start of the game so you can't progress unless you kill it and that is incredibly hard because it kills you in a few hits and seems to stun lock you - No sign of story whatsoever - Apparently there is a character customize option but the sliders don't work There are honestly too many more things to write about so I recommend watching the gameplay and review I've linked. Don't get this game until it's updated a …

I really tried to get into this game because I DO see a lot of potenial in this game. The world is beautiful and I also find the inventory and general UI really user-friendly BUT the hit boxes of the enemies are so weird, attacks simply stun-lock you and I am absolutely no fan of the fact that you lose your Exp if you die. Also the sliders in the character creator don't work at all (you can use them but nothing happens). Honestly sad. I hope this one isn't canceled and things are getting done with it.
