"Louma" is a poorly made 2D retro pixel (ugh) roguelite "dungeon crawler"... and there's a lot to take offense with there, but let's focus on "dungeon crawler", which this is not, it's a top down brawler pretending to be an RPG. And shallow... wow. This comes across more like a tech demo than a real game. All you do here is fight the awful controls in a bunch of samey, repetitive procgen levels... no narrative, nothing enjoyable about it. There's some bosses to fight, but no reason to want to. This features really godawful pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks much worse than most other games because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded [i]despite[/i] the bad graphics, not because of them. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeu…

Louma is a small-scale roguelike dungeon crawler that builds its identity around procedural exploration, direct combat, character progression, and the uncertainty of venturing deeper into hostile territory. Developed and published by DreamStudios, it takes a deliberately uncomplicated approach to the genre. An evil presence threatens the world, and the player is tasked with entering dangerous dungeons, becoming stronger, and confronting whatever waits below. The narrative establishes enough motivation to begin the adventure without overwhelming the gameplay with lengthy exposition, making this primarily an action and exploration experience rather than a story-heavy RPG. Each journey revolves around procedurally generated dungeon floors. Changing layouts mean that players cannot rely entirely on memorization, encouraging them to search unfamiliar rooms for useful resources, keys, artifacts, enemies, and the path forward. This randomness provides much of the replay value because individual expeditions can develop differently depending on what the dungeon provides. For a free to play game, this was a fun game, challenging at times, love the various abilities each class has for some variation on what you want to play. solid game, maybe one day expand on this idea and game for a future game. Soundtrack is pretty good too.

it's an alright dungeon crawler. Some big annoyance like the high damage of hazards compared to normal enemies or getting the artifacts and and the guy to unlock the boss is RNG. Or having a boss that encourages you to be slow and steady can heal himself
