Now this was a game with actual substance, oh my goodness. Every Nekopara that came before this was simply an introduction in order to create the narrative you get in Volume 4. I was very pleased with my experience reading this and I'm glad I continued to stick with the series despite some feelings of doubt I had. Is this the greatest visual novel story you'll find out there? No, absolutely not. Nekopara is built off of a very indulgent fantasy of living with sexy cat girls who lust after you and wear maid outfits and skimpy clothes. Any narrative elements you get are always going to be bogged down by that fact. But by god Volume 4 tries its best to make you forget that. It feels like people actually FEEL EMOTIONS rather than empty platitudes that progress into sex scenes. Kashou has struggles he needs to overcome, motivation to try things, and a goal to accomplish here- all things I feel the other volumes were sorely lacking. I was jumping out of my seat at some of the reveals near the end with how engaged I was- leagues more than before. I can really just recommend this based on the writing alone, which should be the case for any visual *novel* but I digress. Of course if y…

First of all I showed this review to almost no one. Not my family, not my friends, not even Chocola or Vanilla or Coconut. This is my review. There are other like it but this one's mine. I wrote it myself last night while screaming into an empty bag of doritos. Anyways I'm a huge disappointment to my parents. 11/10
