I wasn't expecting so much care and attention to detail in a free game, but well.. I was pleasantly surprised! Lumina Veil is a nod to old-school survival horrors
going all-in in a couple of sections too, won't spoiler though
with a well-thought lore and storyline (including some nice plot-twists), decent puzzles and navigation, and a slightly clunky but functional combat system; difficulty is rarely a problem, a part from a couple of spikes near the end, which are still very manageable.* The most impressive part? This FREE and COMPLETE game, was developed by one single guy! A big thanks to Richard -aka Hamster Cafe- for his great passion that gifted us this hidden gem. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3772428228 *about "nightmare" mode: you have added "variant" enemies here and there (some of them even respawn), I noticed less items scattered around and the very final section is expanded a little; saves are no more unlimited, for a more old-school vibe; difficulty stays pretty much unchanged, but it's still better to set this mode for a second playthrough.

Finished the game, and I really enjoyed it. As a game that is developed by one person, it's a success. There are some limitations which makes sense but overall it's a good game. I hope it gets some extra mini-games in future.

This game should NOT be free. It is great! I enjoyed the creativity of the monsters and being able to look around while you are streaming the game. The voice actors were amazing! Truly emersed me in the game with how good they were. So truly good game. I enjoyed playing this game and I can tell the developer was passionate about this project. 10/10 for me.

This is my first Steam review. Nothing before has ever motivated me to actually leave one. This changed with Lumina Veil. For a completely free indie game, I was absolutely blown away. The story is top notch. The environmental storytelling rivals that of a Bethesda game, not to mention the fact that I absolutely was jump scared more than once. I personally would recommend this to anyone that enjoys a classic horror game or an addictive story. As a female gamer, Lumina Veil definitely hits home. This is how games should be.
