As a perfectionist, this one got to me... very well written. The nightmarish elements are visceral and unique, and the mundane horrors are almost too real.

honestly quite short and i didn't expect that ending, it's super good tho and relatable in a way

It's a short game, you can play it for free and it has decent visuals. The game touches on subjects such as [spoiler] teen pregnancy, high expectations, grooming and graphic nightmares. [/spoiler] Those matters are handled okay. The game doesnt try to resolve those matters and it doesnt have to. The dialog is disturbing, in a way its charming again. What really bothered me was the ending though. I won't get into details, but I feel like they just wanted to quickly finish the game off. There's no twist, no special meaning in it - it's just tragic. The game definitely could've used some further depth to it. It was interesting-ish, until it was over. No highlight, no nothing. You can look into the game, but you also won't miss out on a lot if you don't.

Lynne is a short psychological horror visual novel that caught me off guard because it takes something as normal as being a teenager and turns it into something genuinely uncomfortable. I follow fifteen year old Lynn as she deals with upcoming GCSE exams, problems at home and the pressure she puts on herself to succeed. Things become much worse when she starts having strange dreams about another girl from school called Lynne, who looks almost exactly like her. From there the story slowly becomes more disturbing as Lynn starts losing her grip on what is real. What I like most is how personal the story feels. There is no huge supernatural world to explain and no complicated mystery that I need to solve. A lot of the horror comes from Lynn's own thoughts, fears and insecurities. Her family problems and worries about school make the situation feel believable at first, which makes the more disturbing parts stand out even more. I also like how the story keeps making me question what I am actually seeing instead of immediately explaining everything. The presentation works well for the kind of story it is telling.
