About Machina of the Planet Tree -Planet Ruler-
The "Old World" was a world with an advanced civilization, but after its destruction there was little to no evidence left of its existence.
That world was created from the blessing of the ether energy provided by the Planet Tree, Esthanatelle.
After the destruction of the "Old World," the Esthanatelle Order, worshipers of the Planet Tree, took control of the world.
During that time, "Attributes," relics of the "Old World" were being excavated in ruins everywhere, and the Order established Halbern Machinery Academy to research these "Attributes."
The stated purpose of the Academy was the management and control of "Attributes" but, as it began to bring more places under its control, gradually the Order's control on it lessened and the Academy soon began to act independently, as a governing institution over a large part of the world.
At the height of all this, Cram Lanvelouche, a genius S-Rank Mechanician from the Halbern Machinery Academy; the legendary Attribute, "Machina;" and the Planet Tree become intertwined in a great spiral...
Machina of the Planet Tree -Planet Ruler- is the first in a series of several games by the group Denneko Yuugi. A combo-based RPG that focuses on action and flashy attacks, Planet Ruler takes many elements from classic Japanese RPGs and combines them in a fast-paced and colorful new world!

[h1]A game I tried to like, but there's just too much wrong with it[/h1] Initial thoughts as I got this running were: 640x480 art? Seriously? Ok, that part was an easy fix, just Alt + Enter to force full screen. Tip of the iceberg. _________________________________ The game is a typical early Final Fantasy copycat made with RPG Maker - 2d top-down random encounter turn-based RPG with a typical level-up / experience formula. Characterisation was a bit more playful than I was expecting, but after a while I got bored with it. A lot of the time the dialogue sounds like it's straight out of a VN - always teasing the guy, overuse of the word 'perv'... if you know, you know, right? By the end (or 'near' the end) you can sum up the whole story with that word. Perve. It's almost all they talk about. *yawn* So halfway through, finding out there was no character development, I was struggling to understand why I was still playing. Maybe I had some forehead notion of finishing the game. Ha-ha. Nice joke. The final dungeon Stairs to the Stars has a ridiculous difficulty spike - I think it's after the end of chapter 5. I think I was level 55, went in and tried the first portal…3 found this helpful
Too much is wrong with this game. It's an overpriced RPG Maker game that really misses the mark on writing, gameplay, controls, and whatnot. Don't bother.2 found this helpful

Not really a bad game, but not great either. The story is as barebones as you can get with some of the writing being very mediocre. Though the 3~4ish main cast members are enjoyable enough. I like the combo combat system, but needs refinement to better know which moves are resist/effective. Also because of a combination of bosses high health and HP regen the game can become a DPS check at times. But you can easily power creep in the game with over leveling making the fights easy. One thing I really dislike was the RNG element in finding better weapons, and then needing RNG mats to improve those weapons. Also I dislike the idea of the only accessory in the game becomes available towards the end, purchasable at the town shop right before the last dungeon. Overall it's a okay game for a short RPG to experience.
The writing is... well, not my thing. It's an alright RPG if you can get past that though.
Couldn't get into it at all, the very first hurdle is there only being very limited key rebinding available that does not in fact allow you to swap Y and Z if you happen to have a QWERTZ keyboard layout because only specific keys can be bound at all (!). So if you have QWERTZ or any other keyboard layout different to the english QWERTY, there's a good chance you literally can't fix the bindings to work as intended.
