About Magic defense

It's time for real battles!
Our wealth is in great danger, which we have not faced before. A horde of greedy trolls and other magical characters want to take away all our gold! Build a defense and stop them immediately!

Do you think it will be easy? Are you sure the enemy is weaker than you? As if not so: you will need a
lot of tactics to defeat a cunning opponent.

One way or another, the range of available turrets will open up the widest tactical possibilities for you. And carefully drawn graphics and excellent special effects just won't let you take your eyes off the screen.

All aspects of the game are perfectly balanced: the characteristics of the towers, the strength of the enemies-you will definitely not get bored from the excessive ease of the gameplay.

Feel the real excitement of the battles! Upgrade your army, build as many defenses as possible, and develop your own tactics to protect your wealth!

Magic Defense is a "template flip", that is to say, it's a "game" that has been produced by copying a game template from GameMaker Studio, changing a few things, then dumping the barely functional "product" on Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. In this case it was a GameMaker Studio template for doing a simple retro pixel tower defense game. In this case, at least the developer owned up in the credits to which tilesets they ripped off. It's refreshing to see "developers" being honest about their games really being someone else's. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and results in terrible games like this one. No professional effort was made in terms of game development, using a game construction kit requires no game development talent, and unsurprisingly produces products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. It's almost as bad as an outright asset flip. This is nothing but a lazy, greedy cash grab (confirmed by the whopping $7 price tag for a template flip) and should be avoided. If you really want a good TD game, you can get Kingdom Rush on…

Does not give you a lot of information at the start, but after a bit of fumbling, you will enjoy a good "Tower Defense style" (their words) game. The enemies come at you from all angles, but if you have a "good" starting map (it's very easy to restart the game) you are off and running. You will soon work out that once the pot of gold is moved, the enemies will typically exit to the top of the map and you can lay your defences accordingly. The only tricky bit are enemies who then attack from the top of the map. Enjoying the game!

This is awful. The starting map is randomly generated, making tower placement to defend the thing insanely difficult. You either get a good setup, or you fail - there is no middle ground. There is no tutorial or explanation for anything, so you have to just figure stuff out on your own - and none of it is intuitive. The game requires you to manually pickup your currencies (yes, plural - there are two) and they disappear very quickly, meaning if you are on the wrong side of the map or you misclick, oh well. You just lose that money. The fact that every single action is tied to using the left click also makes it horrible to interface with. You try to click a coin because the currency is ridiculously stingy and end up accidentally leveling a tower you didn't want to waste your money on. Furthermore, the scrolling is click-and-drag, so then you often run into the problem of placing towers incorrectly. The leveling doesn't really seem to do much, so after a while, it became more about just placing more towers than actually leveling everything. All in all, this game is one of the most frustratingly terrible idlers I have ever played, and I have no desire to continue. I highly recomm…
