What Steam players say

Players appreciate the game's appealing art style, engaging story, and hunter-like mission structure built around a request board, but consistently criticize the repetitive combat and grinding gameplay loop that becomes tedious when pursuing completion. The unclear progression mechanics, limited weapon variety, janky combat timing, and mismatched art direction between characters and overworld environments add to frustration, with many finding the grind-heavy design makes the game feel mediocre and better suited for handheld play than PC gaming.
got this game as a gift for Secret Santa, just to be clear. And while I put it into recommended - it is because I enjoyed the game in spite of its negatives. Anyways - the gameplay, when it comes to combat, frankly, is very lacking and gets very repetitive fast when your goal is to 100% the game (aka getting all enemies, all their drops, all weapons LGR/LGR+, etc). The fact that a lot of things in this game are not clear as to how to get them (such as requirements for certain LI's), as well as some annoying things like certain drops for craft being stuck to ONE enemy that you can kill only in 1-2 missions makes the situation a bit more worse. A lot of my gameplay was basically grinding specific enemies and secret bosses for their items - and trust me, savescumming, while helpful, doesn't make it THAT faster of an ordeal... Still, despite very subpar and clunky arpg gameplay, I enjoyed this game a LOT, surprisingly. VN-wise, it has that vibe I very much LOVE in games like Disgaea, mixed with romance a la Otome genre, and honestly, is basically everything I wanted out of Trillion: The God Of Destruction, but never really got there every time I tried to play it. The world is int…4 found this helpful
had this game on my wishlist since release date. love the game pro's - art looks great story is nice missions have a quote "hunter" vibe to them missions also retained to a request board(works for me since hate over spread out areas for some types of games i.e dauntless was notorious for it) con's - combat can be a bit janky at 1st (dodging and guard timing) "this also might just be a me thing since greedy on attacking" overworld maps is not matching with the art style of the character's(not a turn-off but it is off putting) overworld models same as reason above 3d ish chibi models that don't really fit but look well enough 3 weapon choices (sword, axe, spear) seems like variety wasn't really there but still fun and each does have there use in combat overall - anime/nippon ichi style art design with a monster hunter ish feel of gameplay. even with the con's this game is enjoyable. edit - just got done with chapter 2. so i can say for sure i was being atk greedy lol. going full combo can lead to some health loss during boss fights. off screen atks most can be either out swung or blocked(2nd one is a bit of a waiting game tbh) to those who speak of movement speed i can o…
Aggressively mediocre dungeon crawler with the fake illusion of choice That is all there is
It's an ok game. The only way I would recommend this game is if it comes from another bundle from humble bundle.
I think this game would be best played on the steam deck, which I currently do not have, so this game will go back on the backburner. I just don't feel like this game will be a fun option on my PC compared to a lot of other choices. The little I have played, I am sort of reminded of "The Witch and the Hundred Knight", which I liked that game, but it took me a little time to get into, I don't want to take that chance while my backlog is long.
It started out as interesting but you eventually hit a brick wall in the form of repetitive quests and super slow levelling. The premise was OK, a Visual Novel mixed with 3D exploration and 2D combat, but what killed it for me was that I couldn't progress at all since the stat scalling of higher level enemies becomes ridiculously steep (Basically you end up dealing 0 damage and get hit with a 1000), and getting EXP is a super slow process on top of it being the same gather/slay missions over and over again. Even if you could steamroll against normal and boss enemies (Because you need to beat those in order to progress), the game is just always the same, stride across the same maps picking up stuff of trying to find where the enemy target is (Surprise surprise!: it is most likely at the end of the long ass map you have already done in the past 15 missions!). The 2D combat sections weren't super terrible, but when the games lags on you every time you land hit, stunlocks you and gives the enemy animation cancel everytime you block an attack, it becomes insufferable. If I could just keep the VN parts of the game and get rid of the rest, I would say its okay, but since I can…
