About Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed and Rebound
What’s an Overlord to do when your Netherworld is destroyed and you’ve managed to just barely save your own life by sealing your soul in a sacred tome? In this strategy RPG you take on the role of Overlord Zetta, Overlord of Overlords, in his quest to reclaim his Netherworld and his body after a destructive prophecy came true and his entire Netherworld was wiped off the map.
Using cunning strategies, ultra-powerful magic, and a vast range of crazy deadly weapons, Lord Zetta aims to take control of his enemies’ lands. Using a feature unique to this battle system, you can summon your army via the INVITE system to do your bidding on the battlefield and dominate your foes! This iteration of Makai Kingdom also includes the western debut of Petta Mode where you can discover the origin story of Zetta’s daughter from the future.

I own three copies of Makai Kingdom & have spent enough time all together to make it worth it. I bought this version in the time where I wasn't on my Switch often due to controller issues & had my steam deck. Needless to say as much as I recommend this game, it doesn't start unless there's internet. A sad reality of this version that should have not happen.1 found this helpful
Given how good this game was back on the PS2, it's abhorrent how badly this 'remaster' was done with badly upscaled artifact-riddled assets. Yes, it's still playable, but its a lazy AF cashgrab port.1 found this helpful
I enjoyed the original version of this on PS2 but this version has a game-breaking bugs involving complete loss of input. It's been reported multiple times on forums, does not seem to have any reliable workarounds, and can cause loss of hours worth of progress. I can't recommend a game that has this glaring an issue. I don't want a refund because I got this for pennies in a sale, but I'm frustrated that an issue like this that completely destroys the game experience has never been addressed.
Makai Kingdom: Reclaimed and Rebound is a remastered revival of one of Nippon Ichi Software's most distinctive strategy RPGs, developed by Nippon Ichi Software, Inc. and Codeglue, and published by NIS America, Inc. Originally released as a cult classic, this enhanced version introduces the eccentric adventure of Overlord Zetta to modern platforms while preserving the unique identity that made the original memorable. Rather than relying on conventional fantasy storytelling, the game embraces absurd comedy, exaggerated personalities, and over-the-top scenarios that perfectly complement its colorful anime-inspired presentation. Its bizarre premise, in which the self-proclaimed strongest Overlord accidentally destroys his own Netherworld and becomes trapped inside a magical book, immediately sets the tone for an adventure that never takes itself too seriously while still delivering a surprisingly engaging tactical RPG experience. The story revolves around Zetta's desperate mission to reclaim both his kingdom and his physical form by recruiting fellow Overlords and rebuilding what was lost. This narrative provides plenty of humorous dialogue, outrageous character interactions, and memo…
Just awful the story leads you on forever and a annoying guy who wants to battle but you never battle him..everybody keeps running away... 2 points if you did the bad thing time to reload a save and with how copy paste each level is you tend not to save if you are high level enough... I want to love it buy the story is so bad and make mostly no sense.. Writing it i am at the final part of the special mode and apparently overlord have limited mana and needs time to recover? Here i was just going to my healer and getting it fixed instantly what an exploit.. Like i cannot take anything serious and it's no over the top enough to have fun that way in in the middle and it's bad.. I love disgaea but this is the first game i played that i really didn't like. I played Disgaea 1,la pucelle ragnarok and phantom brave.
its good for me and you
