Malice Within

Hoo boy. This is probably the most buggy, janky, held together by ducktape game I have ever played. But I have to admit, I had fun. Well, until the game completely stopped working. It is a true classic survival horror. Tank controls, fixed cameras, limited inventory, puzzles, etc. And running around and exploring is pretty fun. The game looks fine, though I wouldn't be shocked if 90% of it is assets. The UI sound is 100% ripped from Resident Evil. I think many of the inventory icons are as well, green herb, spade key, etc. Nothing is guaranteed though. Half the time you open a door, you re-enter the room you were leaving. Any wall is prone to clip you out of bounds. Guns? Randomly they won't actually damage the enemy, so you die. The shotgun does less damage than the pistol. If you die and load a save, you will be prone on the ground and can't move or pause and have to quit. Ink ribbons will consume without actually saving. Every note and comment has 2 or 3 typos. I could go on and on with how shoddy the game is. At a certain point of dying after doing 9 shotgun shots to an enemy that goes down in 4 pistol shots, and seeing my ink ribbon didnt save before either... I am done. It…

I thought this was a pretty solid survival horror experience. It captures the old classics quite well..even down to the menus ha. It does have some bugs tho.
