My negative review comes with a touch of remorse. I picked this up in support of the creator and his story, but I can't in good conscience recommend this. This game lacks any real depth or variability. It takes a bit of time to understand the abilities but even then, it's not that fulfilling. I haven't experienced any sort of evolution mechanism. The Mamon's you kind of just raise until they get old. Then you put them away and inject them into another card to feed it. And you repeat this cycle until you get strong enough to progress through the opponents. There's no exploration really. The mechanics are very repetitive and dull. It just falls flat. It needs a lot of work to have the playability one would want. I got through the campaign so to speak, and some of it was very frustrating because of how heavily RNG based it can be. A lot of save scumming. This game is like a gambling monster rancher. It's just too shallow and frustrating.

I really respect dude for making this game. It is however... really not all that good. It becomes boring quite quickly and is horrible balanced. It does however have it's charm and the cost is low and such I do not regret buying it despite it's lacking gameplay and balance of said gameplay. Everyone should be warned however that what you are doing is support a passion project. If you just want to buy a game to have a good game to play look elsewhere. No seriously, I cannot stress enough that this is not a good game. Most of the gameplay will just be you pressing X or spacebar on repeat while fighting from time to time. Then while you fight you will desperatly wish that you were playing a game with an actual combat system. Quite literally the only reason I am giving this is a thumbs up is because it is cheap and a passion project, not because the game is actually good or fun to play.

I miss the monster unlocks from this games inspiration, but gameplay-wise it's a wonderful homage.
