Overall: 7/10

Story:
The story sucks. Point, blank, period. From the very start it was obvious that the narrative wasn't going to be a major focus, and honestly, I didn't have a problem with that. The real issue, then, is that the game doesn't even attempt to make sense on a surface level. The entire narrative can be summarized in a single sentence:
a cartoonishly evil businessman kills you, kidnaps your girlfriend, and an ancient spirit resurrects you so you can embark on a literal God-like rampage to save her.
That's seriously the extent of the story, as this game never stops to provide meaningful exposition, develop characters, or establish any stakes beyond "go kill the bad guy." Everything exists purely as a vehicle to move you from one area to the next. Unfortunately, the writing itself doesn't do the experience any favors either. I can absolutely appreciate campy, self-aware humor when it's executed well, but I found the dialogue here to be EXHAUSTING throughout the entire roughly 6.5-hour runtime my playthrough took. The script feels drenched in irony poisoning, repetitive cliches, and plot holes that are never even attempted to be a…

A very fun action adventure game. It's short. It's goofy. It's a ton of fun. It doesn't require any fixes or mods to run out of the box.

While I haven't put in tons of hours into this game, about an hour and 40 minutes now. I have a pretty good handle on what this game is about and what its about, is fun. A ton of fun. I don't get the angry reviews about this game. Its so bizzare and stupid at times but it has also been an absolute blast of a 2.5D sidescroller. Its a button masher and beat em' up with RPG like elements (Collecting XP to level up moves, nothing too intense). But if you go into this like you would with a so bad its good film, you'll end up loving this. Just play with a controller because the mouse and keyboard controls are borked. Just absolutely atrocious. But with all that said, I really enjoyed this game. I can think of numerous people I'd recommend this to. If you're the kind of gamer who loses when dying, I do not recommend this game. You will die, a lot. There's no real punishment to dying though besides maybe you get pushed back about 5 minutes at most. You can tell this game was made on the cheap though. Like the cutscenes. I can't decide if they are really cool and stylized or just cheap. Its those kind that are like still shots of the in game engine but the camera does this cool thin…

This is a hack and slash game that makes fun of the hack and slash genre so I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great time BUT the story is pretty whatever. The gameplay is very fun while being non-stop and there are some cool bosses with the final one being the only one to give me a real fight but the platforming in really really bad, mostly due to the camera which makes some areas really annoying to get through but it's like old god of war so I was kinda expecting it. 7.5/10
