About Maze Keeper
Maze Keeper is a reverse Dungeon Crawler, combining Tower Defense, Roguelike and Auto Battler. A game where you're not the classic hero, the brave adventurer,
but instead the guardian of a haunted maze.
Your mission? Stop the adventurer from reaching the exit !
⦿ A wide range of monsters
Monsters that are increasingly powerful but also increasingly difficult to place,
with different families of monsters each with their own specialities.
Discover them all !
⦿ An endless domain of mazes
The game takes place in a procedurally-generated maze
so each playthrough offers a unique challenge.
Reroll the maze as much as you like before the game starts,
until you find a comfortable layout to play your run!
⦿ Lots of cards to help you
Monster cards and special cards to reinforce your tiles,
move or improve the strength of your monsters.
⦿ Find the totems to obtain powerful upgrades
Totems offer powerful passive powers to some, if not all, of your monsters,
opening up a wide range of strategies and gameplay options.

I'll say yes, BUT. I wouldn't consider this a tower defense or auto battler. It's more of a roguelike (along with the RNG) puzzle game. At least in story mode, your choices are limited, you have to figure out the 'correct' strategy to win, then rely heavily on RNG to win. Personally, not my cup of tea. Later stages get really convoluted. Eg: one stage's goal is to summon a specific level/tier 5 creature. In order to do that, you need to create a level 4 graveyard by killing the enemy hero on the same spot a lot of (10?) times, then put a specific tier 4 creature next to the graveyard, and have a specific level 3 creature on top of the graveyard, each of which has their own complicated summoning, then you have to randomly roll the right card with low odds. There are elements like hero level-up, malus, and bonus hero items that make this task even more complicated than my description would make it seem. If I had to give an analogy, it'd be like the Satan battle from Digital Devil Saga II, where you need to manually record the boss' health in order to have a shot at winning. [Edit. After beating the game, most of the difficulty comes from the obscure mechanics. If you know them, th…3 found this helpful
I wanted to love this game, truly. But the game just is not fun, and is poorly optimised on top of it. The game as a rogue-lite is a good idea, but the way in which adventurer levelling works takes far too long to make it challenging and instead makes it frustrating. Combine that with a bizarre graphical combo of 3D and 2D and I am left finding it dull and being surprised by the amount of pressure it takes on my CPU.2 found this helpful
I can totally understand most players' frustrations with this one. It is a tough game. The RNG is ridiculously brutal! You will lose many many times. I might even place it in the rage bait genre. With all that being said, there is a lot of fun to be had too, especially when you finally pull off a win. It's probably one of my top satisfying wins. Most players just want rinse and repeat, easy-to-100% games these days. This is not it, and if I'm honest, I like that this one is really tough. Not to mention, for its price, there is a lot of content here. I started playing before the RNG patch came and it was a nightmare. After the patch, it was still very hard but a lot more player friendly. Game sporadically freezes on certain interactions, and has to be force exited. These are game issues, not hardware issues. I run a top end PC. Stay away.1 found this helpful
