Developer completely screwed the folks who paid for the early access version. Early access is not meant to be crowd funding. These people need to start using kickstarter if they can’t get some funding up-front. Early Access is meant to be a way to get your community involved in the development while they provide feedback in realtime. Devs like this are why early access shouldn’t exist. Update: If you think that Early Access is supposed to be a means to crowd fund development, Steam says, very clearly, in their Early Access directions to devs that it is not.36 found this helpful
Plenty of fun, especially for the price. Works on Linux with Proton Hotfix, only a few minor bugs that I've run into1 found this helpful
Firstly, I want to thank the devs for making a brown, queer woman the protag. We don't see nearly enough of characters like her! The art style was beautiful and it was mad fun to fling yourself around and kick robots. Once you got into the groove of it, its a blast. I will say that as the playthrough continued, I felt less and less sure as to where I was supposed to be going. When I would re-enter rooms, sometimes cut scenes would reactivate. I was unable to figure out where to go after I got the red key card. This is not a perfect game, but I recommend it because it was fun! The mechanics are great and I was elated to be playing the protag as she is. Thanks Avian Hearts, looking forward to seeing what you put out in the future.
If controller support and QA is important to you, skip this game, at least for now. I'll wait for some updates before trying it again. Dying repeatedly during the tutorial because movement features aren't properly explained before they're needed... Horrible checkpointing on confusing levels full of insta-kills... Overcomplicated combat revolving around a contextual grappling hook and a gun that keeps disappearing & reappearing from my hand*... it's all kind of half-baked. *I later worked out that weapon swapping was mapped to clicking left-stick, i.e. the easiest one to hit by accident when playing a movement shooter with a controller. Between the weapon swap issue, the abysmal settings navigation (where your cursor disappears if you don't use a 2nd stick to manually scroll), and the "Press A To Start" screen not consistently starting the game when you press A, this feels like the creators have deprioritized controller support. And I can't even say with confidence that decent controller support would make the game more fun. The product description begs a comparison to DOOM Eternal (a game I thoroughly enjoyed with solid controller support) and the most poli…
It is what it appears to be, a short action packed, buggy, platform shooter. It has jumping puzzles, fast paced shooting, a thin yet fun plot, it's buggy and you can cheese out and skip sections of some of the jumping puzzles, clipping errors, and general shenanigans, but except for one instance of crashing it was still plenty fun. I couldn't actually finish the game because the final boss keeps bugging out, but that didn't stop me from having plenty of fun for my $7
short review: No. I'm sorry, I wish I could support it, but the game's broken (being and indie and former EA isn't an excuse). Can't even proceed to next area because I can't ''kick'' the bullet. Furthermore, for what little I played, isn't even worth it.
