About Metrail
Metrail is a simple, music driven experience. It contains three levels, each having "chords" and "notes" following the track. The notes are one-shots, while chords require the correct keys to be held down to pass through. Playing flawlessly multiplies your score by a combo multiplier,

✦ AI summary
Metrail is a free minimalist rhythm game with a polished presentation and ambient soundtrack, but players widely criticize its shallow gameplay as a stripped-down version of Guitar Hero with limited content—just 3 tracks and no support for custom music. While the game's technical execution is solid with smooth controls and 4K support, most reviewers feel it lacks the depth and features of paid alternatives like Audiosurf, making it difficult to justify as more than a brief novelty experience despite costing nothing.

Metrail is a simple, minimalist rhythm game driven mostly by the ambient soundtrack as the major selling point. Gameplay consists of endlessly running down a 4 lane ribbon, while occupying all 4 lanes. Pressing a combination of 4 keys will ensure your blocks align with the blocks on the map, basically a dumbed down version of Guitar Hero. The game does offer graphics and control tweaks, and 4K support, the game is reasonably polished and has smooth gameplay. The chief problem is just how shallow the game is. Minimalist art is lackluster, the gameplay is less involved than Guitar Hero, and music is never a selling point for a game given you can put Spotify on for free. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. There's no "maybe" option in Steam, unfortunately, but I hope to see more work from this developer, perhaps as part of a professional …2 found this helpful
Pros: - Free to play Cons: - You can't use your own music collection. - Only has 3 tracks you use. - Keyboard and Mouse doesn't actually support mouse on the main menu. Honestly you're better off paying for Audiosurf, which allows you play your own music collection, and is a more fully featured game. The only other thing I'll say in favour of this, is that it's arguably a more of a rhythm game than Audiosurf is, but it's not as polished or featured as Audiosurf.
coulda been nc but aint on beat
Before I played Metrail, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
