Picture, if you will, a glowing monitor in a darkened room. A simple cursor suspended in the void, waiting for a command. To the casual observer, what sits before you is a modest digital diversion, a collection of short, interactive vignettes built upon the humble mechanics of pointing and clicking. But do not let the simplicity of its pixelated facade deceive you. The architects of this anthology— independant craftsmen weaving dread from the digital ether—have laid out a gallery of nightmares known to the traveler as Midnight Scenes. In its earliest exhibits, you might detect a comforting, albeit chilling, familiarity. The first two tales echo the classic paranoia of a bygone era, a black-and-white symphony of mystery and the fantastic that would feel right at home flickering through a cathode-ray tube in the early 1960s. But as you venture further, the comforting distance of retro-futuristic horror falls away, replaced by the jagged edges of a much more modernized, visceral terror. By the time you reach the third and fourth chapters, the monsters cease to be mere shadows in the cosmos. They step into the harsh light of our reality. A short but fun spooky point and click horror game. If you played the other games in this series you know what it's like already but if not. It has specular pixel art and atmosphere. This one is going for a camp and lake feeling that works pretty good and is longer then the last 2 games but this one took me around 45 minutes to beat. The pacing was just right and the puzzles weren't very hard. I really liked it!

Nice little game: compelling story, nice graphics and music, good gameplay

Episode 3 of the "Midnight Scenes" series of short, snacky horror point and clickies. This is my least favorite so far, even though it is still incredibly well-made. Even though the puzzles this time are the most straightforward - making this more of an interactive narrative adventure than a true point-and-click - you can still feel the passion behind the making of this. My one critique point is that it loses a lot of the Twilight-Zone-like creep factor by being in color rather than in black and white. But that's only a small complaint. The story is deliciously effed-up, as usual, and it's well worth your time.
