Developed by Johan Scherft and published by Second Maze, it serves as a free seasonal spin-off connected to Milo and the Magpies. Instead of trying to provide a lengthy sequel, the game concentrates on a handful of beautifully illustrated locations, environmental puzzles, and the curious behavior of its feline protagonist. The result is an intentionally brief experience that can generally be completed within 15 to 30 minutes, making it feel more like an interactive Christmas story than a traditional full-length adventure. Milo and the Christmas Gift is a very small Christmas adventure, but I think it gets a lot out of the short time it gives me. I play as Milo, the same little cat from Milo and the Magpies, and this time I am trying to find a Christmas present that has gone missing after a bit of confusion. The whole thing is split into five short chapters, and I can finish it in around 15 to 30 minutes. Because it is so short, I never feel like the game is wasting my time with unnecessary filler. The puzzles are very simple, but they fit the game perfectly. I spend most of my time clicking around the different locations, looking for useful objects and working out what I need to do next. There are some hidden object elements as well, so I have to pay attention to the little details in each scene. I like that I can solve things at my own pace without timers or anything stressful getting in the way. It is more about looking carefully and figuring out small problems than trying to beat a difficult puzzle. The artwork is easily my favourite part.
