✦ AI summary
Players appreciate the core autobattler gameplay loop and value, praising the fun synergies and pick-up-and-play nature that works well for casual play. However, they consistently criticize significant balance issues across classes and items, insufficient campaign content, and various technical problems including multiplayer authentication failures, with most agreeing the game has potential but needs substantial polishing, rebalancing, and content expansion to feel complete.
Ok, I've played enough to have a legit opinion. Here's the thing. Great ideas... Meh execution. The core gameplay is good and fun. But the classes and especially items are woefully imbalanced. Not to mention the staging imbalances. The first elite is usually 2-3 stages into the first stage. It's impossible. Can't be done as far as I can tell. Some classes are basically useless, including very high tier ones like the one that does a 20% damage free attack. Or the guy that gets half the defense of the one behind him for free. All in all a good game. The campaign needs to be massively expanded. Classes need to be completely reworked by in large and balancing needs a ton of work, but I had fun so, thumbs up. Also... -There shouldn't be draws. Win or dead. -Money should carry over between camps. -You shouldn't lose all your Jewels that you can use at the beginning of the campaign if you quit. -Max level Poisoners are crazy OP on enemy teams. As are Arbalists. -Always start with a priestess in the front with a saboteur behind her, a soldier behind him an archer behind him and an oath keeper behind her and you'll win every time as long as you select most of the important relics. Pretty tricky to understand having not played this genre before. Tutorial could be fleshed out more, mostly figured it out trial and error. After that I quite enjoyed the game, got a good 8 hours fun out of it.
Not a complete game by any means. Possibly good gameplay loop, but needs balancing, content and plenty of polishing.
There are several reasons I'm voting this up: Value - Its hard to beat $7 for a game that gives so much fun. Gameplay - The play loop feels great. You are your own worst enemy on this game, in more ways than one, so kicking your own tail is the goal. Sidescreen Ease - You can either main screen play this or comfortably sidescreen this while you are suppose to be doing mundane things like "work" and "being productive" (like anyone really wants to do those things). Overall, this game just scratches an itch in a great way. I got a great autobattler, a game that scales difficulty to my skills/choices, and a great way to keep my brain stimulated when doing work that would put me to sleep. 10/10, highly recommend.
My first real experience of this genre, and I found it pleasantly addicting. The mixed art styles gives it a aesthetic that reminds me of playing with action figures as a kid. The synergies of different units work well enough to win with entirely different strategies, and a whole campaign can be completed in an adult gamer attainable number of minutes. Very cool, Would recommend.
Fun to play. Fun to create teams and fight other players.
