Before I begin the detailed review, I did 1CC every route at default settings across all difficulties, yes, even Absurdly Extra, and it was a blast. I love bullet hell games, and really difficult skill based, even if somewhat unfair, easy-game-control games overall where even with presented with what can look near impossible and maybe even somewhat unfair, to somehow still get on top, because mastery is possible and showing to yourself that you can actually beat what may have looked impossible at first or looks impossible to most feels SO satisfying. I've played quite a few Touhou games, but they are 14.99 USD each, 6 and 7 are not even on Steam, and to download from an external source, it can feel risky. On top of that, the PC-98 Touhou games, 2 to 5 to be exact, usually must be emulated unless you want to blow a lot of money and go on a scavenger hunt adventure. TIME FOR THE ACTUAL REVIEW. 連縁无現里 ~ Misremembered Memories, this is a bullet hell game that shocked me in a few good ways. 1. Touhou PC-98 graphics feel very good and special. It is a part of what makes the Touhou PC-98 games so memorable. This should be done more often. 2. You get dropped straight into the Extra bos…2 found this helpful

At the time of "finishing" this game (clearing both AbEx scenarios and forgetting to leave a review), it was my favourite Shmup fangame, and well, it still is. The pattern design is something I have yet to experience in any other Shmup (well, maybe aside from them Touhou scene games), it's really fun and minigame-y, and insanely creative (at least to my feeble-enough mind, but also compared to other games). Also bunch of lasers and telegraphs, I love lasers and telegraphs. Also great way of making stuff seem way harder than it actually is, so satisfying to clear. Before knowing this game, having stumbled upon a video of this game (where I thought it was an official Len'en product, what a disappointment) motivated me to actually pick up the Len'en series, which the first game I was greatly satisfied with (and then the gameplay quality kept going down each entry) and the series as a whole brought great value to me (through well, the non-game part, that being dialogue, characters, lore, music). It is afterwards that I picked up this game, what a treat.1 found this helpful
Probability Card "Mugenri Roulette" was made by an actual devil himself. Good game tho, love the spell card variety
This game is NOT for beginners! I've 1CCd the extra bosses of len'en 1-3 as well as touhou 17, and Easy gives me a very hard time here. With that in mind though, This is a great work. Patterns are well thought out and great looking, music is faithful to the pc98 without being tiring, Controls are good, and character writing doesn't feel too jarring coming from jynx's games. However, On easy, Many projectiles seem to not affect the playable character at all, and yabasume is incapable of dealing damage. I am under the assumption these are either intentional or bugs, because neither of these issues ruins the experience. I would much prefer too see custom easy mode spell cards rather than simply disabling the hits on some projectiles if that is how the difficulty scaling currently works. Dspite the oddities, this is absolutely worth playing if you care about len'en, the few dosens of us there are..
Fun little PC-98 Touhou inspired SHMUP you can beat in a bit over an hour assuming you don't get skilled issued. A load of fun in short package. You have two characters that fight the same boss character and each fights a completely different version with different patterns and music so its unique each time. Give it a go if you want a neat throwback SHMUP. I'd love for there to be way more PC-98 style Touhou games out there. If you like this game go give this dev's new game a try too.
