About Monster Showdown: Prologue

Monster Showdown: Prologue includes the first 3 out of 10 maps of this action packed VR Shooter.

WEAPONS:
Buy your favorite weapons from a choice of over 60 from a dispenser at the wall or try your luck at the enigmatic box for a chance to get a really powerful gun.
You can also attack enemies with melee weapons by swinging your VR controller. The more skillful your swings are the more damage your attacks will deal.

MONSTER AND STAGE VARIETY:
Explore environments from different points in space and time for a varied experience. Many stages come with unique monsters and boss monster for you to take down. There is a mix between quick challenge oriented stages and wider stages that invite exploration.
MODIFIERS:
Unlock different modifiers by completing certain objectives.
These will allow you to spice up the game by randomizing perk and weapon placement or just adding fun things like big head mode.

✦ AI summary

Players praise Monster Showdown Prologue as an engaging VR wave shooter that successfully captures the feel of COD Zombies with features like Pack-a-Punch and perks, with some noting it surpasses similar titles they've played. Common complaints center on significant performance issues even at low settings, VR hardware compatibility problems, and the prologue's limited scope—though some find it too scary or are simply uncertain about the overall quality based on the limited content available.

"Monster Showdown: Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Monster Showdown". Monster Showdown is a very poor, failed VR tech demo, basically a VR game where you wave your arms around to fight waves of zombies... basically take an FPS and remove almost all of the gameplay from it, add VR compatibility, then wonder why it failed so badly. Yes, that game peaked at only 6 concurrent players, a complete failure. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Monster Showdown, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Monster Showdown: Prologue" too. The purpose of your advertisement is to get you to shell out an eye watering $15 USD to buy the full game, which, well, nobody else did based on how badly …

Edit: Resolved my issue. Unplugged my headset and swapped the USB port to a USB hub connected to my 2070's C port alongside 3 other things that are plugged in and now there are no more issues. I have a few things to say about the game but overall the game's fine and my cat is trying to help me type and I don't want to lose my edit so tl;dr gonna try more levels beyond the first one and buy the game if I like them but atm I'm running everything low / off and my pc is still sounding like a PS4 lol. Absolutely don't want to say anything about this game's quality aside from stating that even on settings at low / off (idk I was just checking) this is the only game out of a great many which cause my system to immediately stop functioning. Tutorial ran perfectly (go figure) and so does the hub but once I load into any level I'm just getting constant grey screens (ie loss of tracking) on my Index and motion sickness inducing horrible tracking errors that immediately ended my session. This was the first and only game of that session. I went back 3 times - once after recalibrating my base stations because what if, and once after setting my PCIE mode to Gen 3 only as suggested by a crowd of…

Have you ever wanted to play COD Zombies in VR? Well this is exactly that! They offer; PaP, Perks, Wall buys, Mystery Box, and more! Ive played several other wave shooter vr games in the past; pavlov zombies (including custom COD zombies maps), Arizona, and more, although none have ever felt as good as this one! I hope the developers keep updating this game and after I have tried the prologue enough I will likely purchase the full game!
