Mortgage nightmares

This is the very short first chapter of an early access visual novel, about a young woman acquiring three ghosts along with her new, heavily mortgaged, apartment. I chose English text, which I felt had been translated really well and fluently from the original Russian. The voice-overs remained in Russian but were so well done, particularly that of the sassy heroine, that they added to the atmosphere rather than being an irritation or distraction. There's a nice, underlying gentle humour as well - I hope that this high and entertaining standard continues in future chapters. Well done to the developers and actors.

It is a digital e-book/visual novel masquerading as a game on Steam. There isn't any actual gameplay here, just clicking through some of the worst writing to insult the concept of literature. This is the kind of writing that would never be accepted by a real book publisher, leading to this being dumped onto Steam Direct for $100 as if it was a game... it's not. This is the first chapter of an incomplete and utter garbage Ren'Py e-book from Russia. The plot, such as it is, is about the author's imaginary anime girlfriend moving into an apartment full of ghosts. The art backgrounds are all AI slop, that's why they look so bad, but I wish the writing was AI slop... it would still be crap, but at least it would be grammatically correct. This feels like it was run through Google Translate backwards. And of course the subjective matter is the same pure cringe we expect from non-game e-books, this is a high school anime club dropout fan-fiction about the author's imaginary girlfriend. P…

Only this specific combination could produce gems and gold like this. So horribly terrible yet totally confident and straight-faced in its delivery, we get a story that is truly mediocre, yet elevated to heavens by the comical juxaposition of true passion and zero skill. You're getting blatantly served a humble game... with the devotion of a dog. Now, turns out I'm trash/cringe lover if it's so honest like a polished mirror. The voice acting is like... your Russian lessons CD recordings for your student's book. This game is perfect. Such a beautifully drawn visual story. I am really enjoying it. Would recommned everyone to play it. One thing though and I dont mind it the voice acting is not in English but does have excellent subtitles. 5 stars for this gem of a game
