This is a weird yet fun game, especially when playing online with a friend! The controls feel a bit wonky at first, but once you get the hang of them—like holding LB (or Shift) to aim—it makes more sense. There’s a slight delay in movement, which can feel odd, and the game throws a lot of information at you, but if you just roll with it, it’s a blast. It’s simple yet surprisingly challenging, though some content may be locked behind high scores (still unsure on that). Highly recommended for co-op! Playing with a friend makes the confusion part of the fun. 🎮😂1 found this helpful

Mushroom Crusher Extreme, developed by Mushroom Party in collaboration with Team Jolly Roger, is a frenetic, retro-inspired action title that captures the essence of arcade-era challenge while layering it with modern design sensibilities and an inventive magical combat system. The premise is deceptively simple: the world has been overrun by monstrous mushrooms, and it is up to Zenon, a stoic mage, to clear the infestation using an arsenal of elemental spells. What unfolds from this setup is a blend of tactical positioning, quick reflexes, and score-driven gameplay that demands both patience and precision. Beneath its nostalgic exterior lies a game that rewards mastery through repetition, offering a kind of satisfaction that only truly old-school action titles deliver. At its core, the game’s design is built around its elemental combat system. Each of Zenon’s spells draws from one of several elements—fire, water, earth, or wind—and enemies are weak or resistant depending on their own composition. Success hinges on understanding and exploiting these relationships, chaining attacks to maximize efficiency, and adjusting loadouts before entering each level. Unlike most modern action ga…
Simple fun
This game is a hidden gem. It’s become literally my favourite splitscreen co-op game in my library, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a local multiplayer game. It’s hard to believe this game has been so overlooked and has only 9 user reviews at the time of writing despite having been released nearly 4 years ago and the fact that it only cost me $2 CAD on sale. Mushroom Crusher Extreme is a retro-style, isometric score-attack game with colourful pseudo-3D pixel graphics and an awesome 16-bit soundtrack. It feels like something straight out of the Sega Genesis library. The game can be played singleplayer, local splitscreen co-op or online co-op, but I would say it shines the most as a local splitscreen co-op game. Like the games of that era, the basic gameplay of each level is simple and identical: defeat all enemies in a level (or as many as possible) before the time runs out and so you can get as high a score as possible. But there’s more depth and skill ceiling here than you’d expect from a game with such a simple core premise. Combo-chaining, cooldown management and matching your spell's element to the individual enemy’s weakness is critical to reaching the high ra…
Weird fun game where you can play online with a friend. So weird but so fun too. The controls are a bit wonky to start off, but once you understand it's much better. For example, you need to hold down like LB to aim and not move or shift on keyboard. There's also a small delay before you move and such it can feel odd. But it's still really fun. It's very simple of a game, but still kind of hard too. It's also pretty short I think with some of the game hidden behind high scores? Not sure how I feel about that. Not even sure that's the case. The game kind of has a lot of information spattered at you, but if you just ignore it you can have a good time. Really just recommend with a 2nd player though. Then they can not know what is going on either.
