About My Child Lebensborn Remastered
My Child: Lebensborn is a story-driven nurture game based on true events. Play as the adoptive parent of Karin or Klaus, and experience the struggles they go through alongside them. Adopt a boy or girl, and support them through a defining year of their life.
You adopt a young Lebensborn child in Norway after WW2, but parenting will be hard as your child grows up in a hostile and hateful environment. See a different side of the war, inspired by the true stories of the Lebensborn children. Discover how hatred of our enemies continues to create victims, even after victory.
Discover their past and support them in the present. You must balance your time and resources to provide for your child. You will find answers to the hard questions; about their history, the hatred, bullying, and the passing of blame.
Can you help Klaus/Karin cope with the heavy inheritance of the German occupation, so they will find their place in a country that is celebrating its freedom?

Daily life interaction
The game is full of realistic elements of simulated nurturing. You must balance your time and resources to provide for your child - should you play more with your child or work overtime to be able to afford better food? Look for the effects of your choices on your child’s expressions and body language.
Use your time and meager resources wisely
Earn money as you work, then cook, craft, forage and play.
Taking care of your children is also one of the most important tasks of being their guardian, apart from taking care of their food, bathing, school and shopping, you also need to work, tell them stories, sew their clothes and, above all, write letters to help them find the truth and their relatives. You will find answers to the hard questions; about their history, the hatred, bullying and the passing of blame.
Explore a gripping storyline based upon true events
Experience how hatred towards an enemy can create victims even in times of peace. You will experience the suffering your child has to go through due to a hostile and abusive society, watching them lose warmth and happiness.

This is the most heartwrenching game I’ve ever played and one of the most difficult pieces of media I’ve ever consumed. I’m an idiot Canadian who had no idea about this aspect of Norwegian history, so I didn’t know what I was getting into. I thought it was going to be a story with a nice ending and be about love conquering all - and I guess it is in a way - but every heartbreaking moment in between was absolutely gutting. I felt helpless, angry and more than anything so much pain for my little son and the real life children who experienced discrimination and abuse for simply being born. The amount of attachment I have for my digital child is probably unhealthy lol. Klaus is the sweetest, most appreciative kid and I wanted to do everything I could do make him happy. Unfortunately, the circumstances in the game made that impossible and it is really hard knowing that you can’t do anything to take the pain away. Part of me wants to replay the game so I can right my wrongs (I will never forgive myself for not saving enough money to buy him the fox plushie for Christmas!!) but I think I’ll need to take a breather first as this game is a very emotionally taxing experience. Gameplay is pretty boring. Managing resources and time becomes way too easy early on, and I quickly reached a point where I could afford and do pretty much everything I wanted. The story was fine until the ending. [spoiler]I already felt bad for the child, but the implied SA felt unnecessary and came across as shock value rather than meaningful storytelling.[/spoiler]1 found this helpful
I've played this on my mobile years ago, before the remastered version. I felt very maternal towards these children and my heart ached whenever they are hurt. To know that this is based on true story, it felt horrible. I really hope that they are happy now. No one deserved that kind of hatred.1 found this helpful
In 2004, Steven Spielberg famously stated "the real indicator (that games have become an art form) will be when somebody confesses that they cried at level 17." Since then, copious tears have flowed on both the indie scene and the mainstream, but nothing has wrenched at my heart strings quite like this. Beautiful and appalling in equal measure, My Child Lebensborn has few peers. Poor Klaus, poor Karin, I so desperately wanted them to know only happiness.

A super touching story, a great game with a nice art style too.
