keeps crashing like there's no tomorrow. I can't believe so many defend this port and why for many it works and I have been trying all kinds of fixes to no success...it will run for like a minute until you touch an AI and it's gg crash2desktop17 found this helpful

tl;dr: Needs additional software. After that still buggy. Got this for 2 bucks in a sale, had some nostalgic fun, but still disappointing that it doesn't work properly. The game is fine, if you install dgvoodoo or some other helper to get the graphics going or not crashing after the first race respectively (see forums). The championship races are fine, but more than half the fun back then, when I played it in my teens, were the death matches. But in this version here you can equip your car all you like, most of the time you will start with some random assemblage of no good stuff, and the equipment you get is sometimes already empty at the start of the race. Also, your opponents in the deathmatches don't have to drive the full circuit: If you get off the track, they will magically appear some distance before or behind you, and in the latter case you're dead. One time I spent two minutes far off track just to see my opponents rush by every ten seconds. I guess, after 7 hours of playtime I probably won't touch it again.3 found this helpful
