It was fine. Way too much math for my brain tho
Definitely my favorite Nancy Drew game I've played. The story is actually somewhat interesting, the characters are charming, and the music was surprisingly high quality. The puzzles were tricky and you'll definitely need some pen and paper, but they're engaging and doable; I was able to play on Senior Detective mode without a single reference to outside guides, unlike any of the other ND games I've played.
Finished in about 19 hours. Def would recommend!
Developed and published by HeR Interactive, Nancy Drew: Sea of Darkness is widely regarded as one of the standout installments in the long-running detective adventure series. The story transports players to the icy Icelandic village of Skipbrot, where Nancy Drew is asked to investigate the mysterious disappearance of Captain Magnus Kiljansson just before the ceremonial launch of a restored sailing ship. What begins as a straightforward missing-person investigation gradually transforms into a captivating mystery involving forgotten history, local folklore, hidden treasure, and personal betrayals. The narrative steadily builds suspense while encouraging players to uncover the truth through observation, exploration, and logical reasoning rather than action-driven gameplay. The setting is one of the game's greatest achievements. Icelandic culture plays a major role throughout the adventure, with references to Viking traditions, maritime history, and legendary sea myths enriching nearly every location. Th…
So fun to play with my GF
I really enjoyed this, but I wish some of the puzzles had better instructions. Some were pretty vague and I had to use a walkthrough more that I would've liked. I also found the ice caves super confusing and ended up lost and going in circles, so I'd recommend saving your game before venturing into the caves to avoid a lot of frustration. Overall, I thought it was well done and I'm looking forward to playing more in this series.
