About Necrocat
Help defeat the dreaded Necrocat by adding the game to your Wishlist!

Necrocat is a card roguelike with simple mechanics but grand strategies. Step into the shoes of Twilight and move across the battlefield as you face the armies of the feared Necrocat and collect items that will aid you on your journey to the necromancer!

As you progress on your journey, you will encounter various cards along the way that represent the items collected and used by Twilight against the hordes of undead summoned by the dreaded Necrocat. Your goal is clear: defeat all the monsters and unmask the dark figure behind the necromancer’s alias. To defeat him, you will need to collect all the Necrocat’s amulets that hold fragments of his dark soul. The amulets collected after each conquest will bring more abilities and strength to Twilight, allowing him to return stronger to the battlefield each time.
Collect all the amulets you find and upgrade them to gain more power! It may not be possible to face all challenges empty-handed, but as you conquer more amulets and use them against the necromancer’s armies, the more vulnerable the Necrocat becomes, and the closer you get to facing him!

In grids of cards of varying sizes, you can play casually by simply selecting the direction you want to move to collect an item or engage in a battle with a monster. As monsters are defeated, more powerful monsters appear, and more rewards are given upon defeating them. Each region of the game will have a number of amulets that are acquired by reaching soul fragment goals collected after defeating each monster. Whenever you reach a goal that you had previously achieved, instead of earning the same amulet, you will receive corrupted souls, which will be used to further enhance the power of the amulets.
Each region or map will have different quantities of enemies and items, as well as different sizes and shapes of battlefields. Some items will be more useful in smaller or larger fields, and each type of map will require a unique strategy if you want to overcome your limits and truly defeat the Necrocat.

I hate to say it, but Necrocat isn’t good. I really like the concept, but it just doesn’t work for a lot of different reasons. So, above all else the gameplay doesn’t work, it is mostly luck-based and that makes it feel unfair. Your movement is the way that you strategize and play; however, your options are so limited and you are still at the mercy of so much RNG as it determines what comes onto the board rather than a well-planned route. If you are screwed on healing, armor, or ranged weapons you will take too much damage from attacking and be put into a poor position, sometimes you get out of it often you can’t. This is where the roguelike elements could be utilized to change the game, but they are so sparse that they might as well not even be there. Yes, you can get up to 3 amulets and upgrade them, but with the way that enemy damage and health scales it feels more like a way to keep up with their stats than anything else, but even that is not enough. You are pushed heavily into making certain choices, I felt that I had to take health and dodge as you get so little of it and I kept getting melee weapons on the board you will take a bunch of damage. And that is the thing, melee …9 found this helpful
FOR MORE CARD GAMES FOLLOW US CARD GAME KING
Necrocat is joins the line of the many card crawls where your characters tries to outmaneuver enemies on a grid while picking up equipment and powerups and managing health and attack values. There are already great additions to the genre like Meteorfall: Krumit's Tale, so what does Necrocat do differently? Unfortunately, not much. In many ways it's a distilled version of the tried and true formula. The equipment and power-ups are simple (health and damage - melee, ranged and AOE), as are the enemies. Something positive can be said about simplicity allowing approachability, but those seeking depth will not find it. Artifacts provide passive bonuses and in theory provide provide variety and different builds, but because they are upgradable, there isn't much incentive to change up your gear especially against increasingly difficult enemies. Gold is another resources that feels lackluster, only providing a starting bonus in equipment. It's not a bad game and it rewards some planning, but it doesn't stand out in any way from the crowd. …4 found this helpful
Necrocat is honestly such a cool mix of deckbuilding, roguelike and puzzle gameplay. Every move matters and the art is just adorable. If you’re into strategy games with a fun twist (and cats), this is definitely worth checking out! My Playthrough : https://youtu.be/3qdHBJ3eCvo Overall: 5/10 Decent, but it gets boring quickly. Graphics: 10/10 • The art direction is charming, with a fantastic theme and color palette. Audio: 4/10 • The background music is decent but becomes repetitive after a while. Gameplay: 4/10 • There’s too much RNG, making it hard to rely on anything except movement. • Monsters still damage me even when I overkill them, forcing me to constantly search for healing. • By the time I reach Stage 2, I’m already bored. The gameplay loop feels repetitive: check monster stats, attack, heal, and repeat. • There’s no real strategy or synergy between weapons and armor. • The UI font looks a bit amateurish compared to the otherwise fantastic assets. Bugs: • The "Amulet" is sometimes referred to as "Charms."2 found this helpful
Got it cause it looked like a good time. Hard to get into i tried and dind't grasp what to do for quite a bit. it's worth it for the sale price i got it for 0.67€ so not abad thing there. After i understood it still felt very repetetive in a bad way and un-polished. a simple thing like a starter turtorial mode would likely have made the experience a little nices in the start but the game isn't much more than the demo shows just. more of it. Over all not my jam but i don't regre the price i bought it at.
A unique take on the roguelite genre, with beautiful 2d artstyle. It takes a bit to pick up, but once you do, you just keep playing!
