NEON Squad Tactics is a well-designed tactical turn-based strategy game with an appealing tabletop aesthetic that's easy to learn and satisfying to play, particularly in single-player or with friends. Players praise the strategic depth from its buff/debuff system and character customization, though they note the online multiplayer community is essentially dead, occasional control issues with unit selection, and an uneven difficulty curve that lacks narrative depth. Despite losing out to competitors like Demeo in terms of replayability and visual polish, it offers solid tactical gameplay for th
Works on Reverb G2. NEON Squad Tactics is a severely underrated tactical TBS with VR perspective, that plays like a simplified X-COM without chance to hit. It's still fun, even if it loses to Demeo in terms of replayability, visuals and especially online player base size. NQT is bigger and more complex than previous VR title from this developer, Table of Tales, but not necessarily better. Combat in NQT is definitely more interesting: there is decent amount of buffs, debuffs and damage types that interact as hard counters to each other, making campaign levels more focused on strategic planning. But there is barely any story, and difficulty curve has some random spikes and pits. Unfortunately, online Coop seems completely dead due to a lack of players. It is still a cool feature though, if you can bring you own teammates. Over all, this game is way too good to have only a few Steam reviews after more than half a year since release.8 found this helpful
Pretty fun tactical game you can play sitting or standing. Looks good on the oculus 2 so im sure anything you have will be better. (im late to vr) It has a great theme to it and great customization to all the characters. Pretty easy to learn and pick up as well.3 found this helpful
Completed the tutorials. I found the game to be easy to pick up and loved the look of the tabletop; it was very satisfying to move my pieces and interact with the board. Totally playable single player, but would do great having a couple of friends playing with you. I would recommend picking it up.2 found this helpful
Great game with friends. Very X-com like. Only problem I have is grabbing units occasionally.1 found this helpful
