Neverending AI Storybook

I like that this program is effectively a plug-and-play option for perhaps less technically inclined people who want to start experimenting with AI and storytelling/RPG. Built-in image generation is fantastic and something I've been looking for for a long time (it works with koboldcpp but only if you use the koboldcpp front-end, AFAIK you can't use that function if you are using an api for a different wrapper for it). The price is not terrible, especially on sale, which I might recommend to watch out for just due to the relatively early state that NAIS is in right now. That being said... Yep, I recommend. Eagerly looking forward to the improvements that the devs implement. And also looking forward to a possible "spicy" version at some point :)

If you let your fantasy guide the storrys along, and nudge it from time to time in the direction you want, it is quite fascinating where the storry can end up. I experienced no hardware or crash issues so far, but adjusted the settings for the text and immage generations, so that they work well on my pc. With the added setting options in the end of 2025, there are allot more options to get everything working on big or small hardware. So if you want to let the Ai generate the whole storry for you, is will get boring and odd verry fast. But if you take a bit more of an active role and use the promt line to guide the storry, it is quite a nice way of reading (realy writing part of the storrie yourself).

After getting some help from the developer, I changed my review to a thump up, but the old one will still be at the end for reference. Generating a story with AI whenever you feel like it, is a great idea. Now the program generates decent stories, that are more fun to read, because I have fewer repetitions in the generated text. I downloaded another text model, like advised, and the stories are better now. The generation still takes some time, but it is worth a try. There are a lot of different settings, to keep things interesting. Thanks for the support, Chris! Old review: I think the idea of a randomly generated text adventure is great, because it has so much potential. However, I absolutely cannot get used to the game because it has its quirks. The story contains endless repetitions of various phrases. Not even the wording changes, which gives the impression that the text was written by someone completely lacking in talent. The style is roughly what I would expect from a young teenager. If other things occur during the course of the game, and you ignore them (e.g., a companion), the game never mentions them again, which gives you the feeling that there are huge holes in the…

This is really bad. My characters got named "Man1" and 'Man2", and the same sentence was repeated three times on one page. Literally everything else is better, even free stuff, even ChatGPT.

I love this concept. Local AI means personal sovereignty. However... as much I love how the concept repect my privacy and gives me autonomy... i can't recommand this right now. Because, with 16 DD3 and a gamer CPU the local model took four hours to generate the story plot, then once it was finished the app crashed. The concept is there, it's clever, exactly what's needed for gaming, but you'll need DDR4 or 32Gb DDR3 at minimum. At there are some crashes. And no saving loading system yet. And I don't how the rag works (if there is a rag).
