About Nevermind

NOTE: You do NOT need a heart rate sensor to play Nevermind.

With or without a heart rate sensor, emotion-based biofeedback will be available via almost any standard webcam on a min-spec (or higher) Windows or Mac machine*. Without a webcam or heart rate sensor, the biofeedback-specific features will be unavailable, but the core game itself will be fully playable and enjoyable as an atmospheric mystery-adventure game.

Nevermind is a biofeedback-enhanced psychological thriller that takes you into the dark and surreal world within the subconscious minds of psychological trauma patients.

As you solve puzzles and explore the twisted labyrinths of the mind, biofeedback technology monitors your feelings of fear, tension, and anxiety with each passing moment. If you let your fears get the best of you, the game becomes harder. If you’re able to calm yourself in the face of terror, the game will be more forgiving.

Nevermind’s goal is to create an unforgettable gameplay experience that can help teach you to be more aware of your unique internal responses to stressful situations. If you can learn to control your feelings of stress and anxiety within the disturbing realm of Nevermind, just imagine what you can do when faced with those inevitable stressful moments in the real world…
 • A one-of-a-kind atmospheric terror game that can sense your feelings of fear—creating an experience unlike anything you've played before.
 • A hauntingly surreal interpretation of psychological trauma.
 • Players must unravel the mystery of each patient's buried trauma, exploring darkly beautiful landscapes, solving puzzles, and unearthing clues along the way.
 • If played with biofeedback technology, Nevermind challenges you to stay calm in the face of stressful scenarios, helping equip you with the tools to manage stress and anxiety in everyday life.
 • Supports a range of biofeedback technology, virtual reality, and the Tobii EyeX eye-tracking controller.
 • Extensive Intel® RealSense™ technology support for physiological biofeedback tracking, unique gesture detection, and facial recognition events that can ONLY be experienced with RealSense!
 • Affectiva’s Affdex technology enables emotional biofeedback tracking via virtually any standard webcam!
 • Confirmed physiological biofeedback detection via the Apple Watch**, Wild Divine IomPE, Garmin Heart Rate Chest Strap, Mio LINK sensors, and more!
 • Players can combine both physiological and emotional biofeedback for an incredibly accurate and responsive experience!
 • For more information about supported devices, please see http://www.nevermindgame.com/tech

* Note: Webcam-based biofeedback is unavailable when played on VR platforms. For more information on our supported technologies and compatibilities, please visit: www.nevermindgame.com/tech

A very cool and beautiful title. You can play it with the feedback response or not so you're not locked out of playing it if you don't want to bother with that. It does add a layer to the game, (Unless you're a stone cold ♥♥♥♥♥ like me. Jumpscares? More like jumpbores. :P) but if you're not in the mood to be overly stimulated with horror gimmicks, the game stands alone without it incredibly. What really stood out to me was the visual storytelling. I also think they handled each session of trauma pretty ok. Definitely appreciate the trigger warning in the beginning even if they didn't mention the suicide. They did mention how the game isn't FDA regulated which I thought was.. odd. Hadn't ever seen that before. lol My one biggest complaint about this game was the collectathon after you beat all the cases. Like... Absolutely unnecessary to have to restart them to find all the things. Could have absolutely been done as you went through the first time, with the ability to revisit areas that you missed something in. Having to play through again just to do all that was icky. So um... yeah! Review over and out! lol

disclaimer: i don't have a biofeedback device so i just played it as a regular game. i thought this was going to be a horror game. spoiler alert, whilst it certainly is creepy at times, it's not a horror. it's a thoughtful exploration of PTSD. recommended for people with PTSD (it's more metaphorical than triggering, in my opinion), and recommended for people without, because i think the trauma exploration is very well done.

I excitedly bought this game only to find it only works properly with certain expensive brands of heart rate monitors, and the webcam feedback is rubbish. The game has some good moments but on the whole it's just 'okay' and has some rather questionable ideas about repressed memories and how the transgender character supposedly married a horrid abusive man because she hates herself.

The game itself is extraordinary however the features using heart rate monitors is outdated and makes the game unplayable in that sense. I really hope it is eventually updated soon because I have never experienced a game like this and would love the full experience.

The concept of being a psychological professional that uses highly complex technology to enter the minds of traumatized patients is fascinating, naturally, but Nevermind ultimately fails to execute this idea due to some technical flaws and game design flaws. Throughout some of my playthroughs, I have experienced visual stuttering that is haphazard irrespective of my tuning of the in-game graphics controls. Another error is the lack of height restraints, meaning that players may find themselves suddenly at an elephantine height or floating way above the ground with the only fixes being restarting the level or finding a neuromapping board. Design-wise, it is quite an eccentric decision to make players operate at midget height, making small props and photographic collectibles seem bigger for no good reason. This becomes especially nonsensical when it applies to the level, with simple panel doors looking like wooden medieval gates and tables that the player can just barely see the surface of. In order for players to earn all of the video game's achievements, they are required to replay levels with no discernible difference other than random objects now revealing hidden memorie…
