About NEW TERRA®
Handheld Gaming Community says NEW TERRA is GREAT and gives it an 8.5/10: https://handheldgamingcommunity.com/new-terra/NEW TERRA is a multi-directional gravity based space shooter and more specifically, it's a physics strategy game set in outer space, on asteroids, under alien oceans, within mineshafts on distant planets and so on.
You control the ships rotation and forward/reverse thrust, with every thrust use costing you fuel.

The ship is constantly pulled downward by gravity, which you can use to your advantage if you strategize properly, or it will work against you.
Each level has limited fuel and limited power ups, so if you make inefficient decisions, you will often run out of fuel and crash (and die).

You have weapons but you have to sometimes strategize the use of them. (especially around allies or when surrounded by rock, as it will cause rock to fall and land on you or enemies.)

You can't touch anything with your ship or you quickly take damage. Obviously, if you take too much damage you will crash (and die).

Some missions require you to tow heavy objects which makes your fuel burn twice as fast for a quarter of the speed of travel, so physics and decision making come very much into play.

There are 18 unique missions all set on different planets, asteroids or interstellar locations and there is also a "pitch black mode" where it turns the lights out on every single level so you have only your headlamp to rely on for visibility, this ultimately brings 36 unique experiences to you as a player.

It's an extremely challenging but fun game. As a player, you start out with 30 lives. Hidden in each level is an extra life you can claim once.

In my youth I was lucky enough to own a NES and a DOS system with a few games installed. One of those games was Gravity Force, a game I played religiously for countless hours, savoring the challenge of guiding a rocket powered spaceship through narrow caves, while simultaneously fighting enemies and managing your fuel reserves. I have not found anything even similar to the level of detail given to the controls and challenge I felt from that masterpiece– until I played New Terra. The gameplay is impeccable, the control for the spaceship is smooth and easy to learn. The game provides a very great linear difficulty curve so you never get bored, but you also never feel overly punished. The aesthetic of the game is well made and the soundtrack gets you completely immersed in the game world and it's hard to let go. If you're a fan of gravity shooters or any challenging 2D flyer, then this game is a must buy!3 found this helpful
I was surprised by how challenging the game is! If you like strategy combined with some flying skill and a computer that gives you a whole lot of sass, this is the game for you! It would be a very fun one to play against friends for the best times on certain levels. A good addition to the genre!1 found this helpful
This gives me the vibes of an old school arcade game with a new school feel. Very challenging levels as you progress and really requires you to use some brain power. Looking forward to making it deeper into the game and curious to see how the game progresses in the future. Maybe more levels or some kind of co-op challenges. 9/10 from me, must try!1 found this helpful
An interesting concept for a game like this. It reminds me a lot of the feel of Subspace from the 90's with it's top down flight design but with an added feature of gravity and actual missions to accomplish. That said, it's not perfect. I feel the controls need more work and the GUI feels a little clunky. These are things that can be worked on over time. That said, it's a fun game for passing the time.1 found this helpful
this game is a must purchase, its highly addictive and really fun and fresh. it is really challenging to play but you keep coming back for more. its bee really well made game, that you can just hop into in some spare time or like me lose hours into it.having to remember where to go is key and also keep the ship from hitting walls or worse fall into hot flaming lava. well done to the dev on completing this great little game, i look forward to more of it. it was also nice to see the dev pop onto my live stream too and give me some pointers too.1 found this helpful
