Imagine the building blocks of DOOM, early dungeon crawlers and DnD had an offspring, very addictive and deeper than I expected. Deserves alot more attention, I REALLY hope more gets added in the future!!!2 found this helpful
Another fine Splattercat suggestion :)1 found this helpful
This game comes very close to a grid-type game which I played in the 90s, EGATREK, with the difference here that there is actually a live combat and many upgradable items for your ship, plus you can buy a lot of different ships for the actual purpose of what you do in the game. There is also some sort of economy with random events happening that can favor or harm your status. Question is if you like this retro design, IMO it doesn't hamper the challenge and fun and the presentation as a whole and the grafics, all this is well done. The game can be played as turned-based or in real time, a nice design choice, plus a permadeath mode, all these settable in the Options menu. A nice game, not too complex, just right to take a break.1 found this helpful
Learned about this game from one of the YouTubers I watch and boy am I glad I did. This is a dream game for anyone who grew up on original Elite games and Wing Commander. The game drips nostalgic atmosphere by the bucket. Everything from the visuals to the sound effects brings you back to when you were in middle school and couldn’t wait to come home so you could boot up Elite and pretend you are a bad ass space pirate and take everyone else’s lunch money for a change… Gameplay so far seems addictive in a must do quests to upgrade my ship to do more quests kind of way. Strangely zen. Definitely see myself putting some fun hours into this. Also the game can run on a potato and is less than a gig of space. TLDR: Starfield and Elite Dangerous wish they were this game.1 found this helpful
Neat space crawler, that has some interesting ideas. Can't wait to see where they go from here.
I can't think of a game in the past which sets the players behind the cockpit of their starship, has grid-based movement turn-based during exploration mode, while combat is real-time like, say, Dungeon Master. So, if only for this aspect, kudos to the one-man band developer for bringing something more to the "cosmic crawling" genre (if that's a word). As of today, the game is fully playable, but the developers is still working on it, tweaking and adding features and generally growing the game by implementing the player's feedback (mostly, this is done via discord). I got good vibes out of this game and found myself to be quite hooked on playing it, even for short sessions when i have 10 or 15 minutes of downtime. There are some aspects of the game that imho needs some polish and some others - like the crafting system - that have potential and could use some improvement/expansion. All in all, a game that i'm glad to have bought and that i will follow in its development. Thumbs up.
