After being abandoned by their parents, Hansel and Gretel wander the forest searching for their way home. This begins a journey through the dangerous forests, that they will find soon enough is inhabited by a hungry wolf prowling around.
Fret not! There are not only wolves in the forest but other fairy tale characters as well. Some take kindly to the children and try to help them while others… not so much.
Trials and threats await the poor children, but each challenge is an opportunity to grow. Hansel and Gretel will develop unique skills that will surely be useful in uncovering the secrets of this impressive land.
By putting their strengths together they may stand a chance surviving in this cruel world. It’s up to you to find out!

The game is original and the stop-motion puppets bring flavour to the gameplay experience. While some camera angles can make controls a little tricky at first, once you get used to the mechanics, there is lots to be explored in Once a Tale with hours of fun. The game has cool puzzles and likeable characters. The lack of combat is intentional in my opinion and makes the narrative the center piece of the game. It's really janky even when you separate the characters. The camera control is wonky and difficult to navigate because you cannot turn the camera around. Ultimately for me if these things were fixed I would like it more.1 found this helpful
This game could have been alot more. But it was basically ruined for me with lousy controls, awkward camera angles and lag. Making a simple jump was frustrating enough for me to bail out of this game.1 found this helpful
Really liked the unique art style! Puzzle and platforming was interesting thoughout the experience. Fun for anyone but especially for kids!
This game is amazing. I love the hidden collectibles and the lore of the characters. From start to end, Once A Tale will make you hope Hansel, Gretel, and their friends get a happy ending. I hope one day we might get a sequel or maybe a DLC.
